September 7, 2006 -- AN infuriated Warren Buffett has renounced one of his granddaughters - telling her she is no longer his relative "legally or emotionally" because she took part in a documentary about the lives of the very rich.
Nicole Buffett, the adopted daughter of Buffett's son Peter and biological daughter of Peter's ex-wife Mary, was featured in Jamie Johnson and Nick Kurzon's documentary, "The One Percent," which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival this year and is a follow-up to Johnson's "Born Rich."
Enraged that Nicole not only participated in the documentary, but also plugged it on National Public Radio and "Oprah," Buffett wrote Nicole an "angry letter" two weeks ago telling her she was no longer part of his life, a source tells Page Six.

Her estate tax woes?
Gone!
He thinks people buy his phony image of just plain Warren who lives in the little house in Omaha.
What did his granddaughter say?
This was actually one of those rare Oprah shows I watched. I was rather impressed that Buffet expected his grandkids to earn their own way. I didn't think she said anything bad about him at all. Maybe the movie is different. Guess it was shame on me for thinking a good thought about him based on that show.
She said he paid for her education but doesn't give the grandkids any money after that.
>>>Buffett wrote, "I have not emotionally or legally adopted you as a grandchild, nor have the rest of my family adopted you as a niece or a cousin."
"He was angry Nicole was using the Buffett name to promote herself and said he no longer considered her his granddaughter," our source added. >>>
According to the above paragraph, it sounds like he never did consider her his granddaughter.
Mr. Philanthropist is a real jerk.
Finally someone who isn't concerned about his billions. Bully for her! People with a lot of money get more and more eccentric as they get older. Warren's personal life isn't exactly life as a model citizen. Like Soros, I don't need him to tell the rest of us how to live our lives.
Ahh good old Democrat.. high on ideals.. low on morality.
How can he no longer consider her a granddaughter unless he already considered her as one? Uh?
Bitter old man ...
nobody ever mentions his place in Laguna Beach
I'm not against being filthy rich. I'm against people that wish to exclude any others from the club.
I happened to watch the show as well and his granddaughter was not critical of her cheap grandfather. He is only mad because it showed him for the totally uncaring cold bas$&rd that he really is.
Is he as bad as Soros? I know he's a liberal but I don't know much about him. Speaking of Soros, has anyone read this book by Horowitz:
The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party
Then it would seem that being cut off doesn't mean that much.
Wow, he's just a rich warm little fuzz ball isn't he? Buffett's probably screwed up his kids and grandkids since it's obvious that his love for them is extremely conditional.
Actually he has made a big deal out of how they aren't going to inherit anything anyway, so what is she losing? A guy worth billions can't help his own kin, what kind of guy is he one wonders. From my perspective, the reason we exist is to see to it our offspring have it better than we did, I guess he wants to make it easier for his kids to do that. Whatever...
That was my thought when I read this.
