Considering I'm voting for Goldwater, I could care less. Although it just adds to the list of why I'm not voting for him.

So, "learn from my mistakes" is not a legitimate message? Or, "noone is permitted to mature morally"? Or... what's the point, exactly?

I think someone who has done the deed and has suffered consequences (even if just emotionally) is a perfect spokesman for why it's better to do thinks differently.

yes: So? I had sex before marriage too. That doesnt mean I wouldnt tell my daughter to practice abstinence. Nor my son either.
Especially in todays world where a piece of tail can give you something that wont wash off. back in the 50's the worst we had to worry about was getting someone pregnant or catching the clapp. today its herpes, genital warts, AIDS. Diseases and consequences that can shorten your life and make you miserable and contagious for the rest of your life.

Same point Kerry made by repeatedly noting that Cheney's daughter was/is a lesbian.
