The Ford Campaign put a sign in my yard without asking me.

I came home from work yesterday and there was a Harold Ford for U.S. Senate sign in my yard. Checked with the wife and she had not given anyone permission, nor had the sprogs.
What would you do? Other than ripping out the sign which I did pronto. I find this to be just unbelieveably sleazy, but I guess that should be no surprise from this dirty family and their dirty dirty campaign staff.

Maybe they got the address wrong. I wouldn't tear it up I would take it to the local welfare office or Social Security Adminstration or Mosque and put it there.

Call a newspaper, at least one that might have a sympathetic reporter, and publicize it. Then others might come forward saying it happened to them, and it might become an issue.

In Texas, I've seen lots of signs with stickers placed on them: "This is an illegally placed sign."
They sometimes stay there like that for days.

Do you suspect any of your neighbors are supporters of Ford? This could simply be a case of a mistaken address. It's not unusual for me to get neighbors' mail, for instance.
I highly doubt any political campaign is sticking signs in random peoples' yards.

I'd paste-over and make it an ad for phone sex.

I was going to make some new letters and change "Senate" to "Penitentiary"

Or call Ford's office and ask for 100 and then throw them away.

great suggestion. I am so irritated about this. What if someone saw it and thinks I'm supporting that dirtbag?
To: babble-on
Could be nothing more than a neighbor doing it to get you riled.... jumping to conclusions that the "campaign" itself was behind it is a bit of a jump.
Getting a campaign sign isn't exactly like getting the code to a nuclear missle.
To: babble-on
I like the idea of re-posting the sign in front of the most objectional establishment you can find - the local crack house, the nearest radical Mosque, the offices of the communist party, or on a billboard ad for Viagra.
Other ideas?

Check with your neighbors.
A few years back I volunteered for a local mayoral campaign, I owned a pickup truck so I was the perfect guy to deliver lawn signs.
I had on a couple of occasions mistakenly put a sign on the wrong lawn that should have went next door.

Be careful what you do...because if you do anything illegal or contrary to "property" law,Ford, that man of the people, *will* press charges.
If it were me,I'd apply duct tape to his name and image and then call the cops for advice.
