To all Freepers and all Florida Voters, I issue my thoughts and feelings about this Florida Primary, a campaign of which I myself have no vote in ! ---------------------------------------------------------
Congresswoman Katherine Harris has waged a long hard run for the GOP nomination for the seat of U.S. Senator from Florida, now occupied by incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson .
As many of you on this forum know, Katherine lost her dear beloved father George Harris earliar this year . The loss of a father takes an emotional toll, even in the advanced years of one's life .
I would say to the detractor's of Harris, especially those who have claimed extreme difficulty in working around her in the last few months, , , please take into account all that has happend and all that has thrown in front of her goal for higher office, a goal she has turned down more than once for the sake of party loyalty - - a loyalty that has not been reciprocated by the RNC leadership - -
Rep Katherine Harris is human, like us all, and like all of us, she makes mistakes, we can be difficult to work with, intemperate, short with others .
For all good conservatives and all good people in Florida, let us not fall down the DemonCrat path of petty spite over past slights ~ lets us all join together to fight the good fight, win or lose - -
let us act honorably and decently,
Do not let what the Libs and Lefties have done to so many of us decent Americans corrupt us into their way of thinking and doing ~ let us prove we are the Good People, The Crats are The Bad .
Isn't just what you are doing by your continues whining???
Get on with what we need to do - N O W - Unquestionable she won the primary!!!
How does anyone know how many Republicans will vote or how they will vote? How can anyone predict elections based on polls anymore? I do not answer political phone calls from either party nor do I click yes or no to any poll on the Internet. The questions are framed to provide the desired outcome of those who paid for the poll. Many of us are tired of being bothered on the phone period.
NO, I don't think it, I KNOW her well enough that she as usually WILL win!
She has the same mind and attitudes as our Miami Heat that, likewise her, was rediculed by the "drive-by" media before they surpriced everyone with a NBA championship!!
Like Ms. Kathrine Harris, Pat Riley and all his players believed in themselves. I think we can throw in our Florida Marlins in that same mix. Kathrine Harris is NOT a loser!!!
Now that the Primary is behind, I call on all FReepers to join me in supporting Charlie Crist - For Gov. and Katherine Harris - For U.S. Senate....
As you all know I supported Gallagher and McBride - But now it is time to UNITE conservatives and Moderates accross Florida in SUPPORT of the winners !
I would like to start by offering my PUBLIC SUPPORT for....
I saw it and didn't think he was out of his league. Bentsen made his famous "You're no JFK" retort, but I thought he more than held his own. He was knowledgeable and articulate [more than either Bush]. It certainly didn't hurt the ticket as Bush won big with 53.4% of the popular vote and a staggering 79% of the electoral vote.
I had never even heard of him when Bush selected him, and I followed politics closely.
I must have followed politices closer than you. I knew he was a senator from Indiana.
The Holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history. I mean in this century's history. But we all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century.
Gimme a break. Every politican comes up with these kinds of misstatements and mistakes. Letterman runs GWB's mistakes almost nightly.
Mars is essentially in the same orbit... Mars is somewhat the same distance from the Sun, which is very important. We have seen pictures where there are canals, we believe, and water. If there is water, that means there is oxygen. If oxygen, that means we can breathe.
There is some truth to that statement, but I don't find such verbal gaffes all that significant or important. The MSM can use them to ridicule their "enemies" who are usually Reps. It does not prove him to be a lightweight. You misspelled Bentsen's name, but I don't think you are dumb or uneducated.
I attribute the dozens (hundreds?) of these things he said not to stupidity, but to panic. He always got a deer-in-the-headlight look when it was something important. Harris is a lightweight too.
I don't know how much public speaking you have done, but I have done more than average number of presentations to large groups. No one is perfect. You can make some stumbles or mistakes. Fortunately, I didn't have the MSM covering my public appearances and capturing every misstatement on video and tape for a gotcha moment.

And when the vote to support Israel is introduced, Harris will support Israel.
The dem party won't.
>>But only Christians should join the Republican one?
<<
I did not say that ..
You overinterpret !
>>AI hear people say that what you just wrote is lame. What, support Nelson over a religous statement ahead of party? Fine. I was raised catholic and haven't been to Mass for years but I vote REPUBLICAN. What did I miss?<<
Excellent rebuttle !
>>K harris has a huge problem with that Jack A mess and she was not forthcoming to her political consultants about that problem which ticked them off and they all bolted.
<<
Jack A ?
You mean Abramhoff ? Her cmapaign got some donations from that contractor Wade Mitchell, yes .......
Blah Blah Blah...she ran in the race and won the primary fair and square. Get over it.
Indeed, and old saying from the 1940's and 50's - -
"To Err, is Truman"
No, she did.
My 80+ year old mother in Palm Beach County voted FOR Harris to thank her for how she handled the 2000 FL election. She takes the Palm Beach Post with her to vote against all their stupid endorsements.
Despite the media smear campaign, when mother listened and learned to Kathleen Harris thoughts, she was impressed.
Florida needs Kathleen Harris as a US SENATOR.
