Serbia denounces Kosovo independence quest

BELGRADE, Serbia, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Serbia's foreign minister Tuesday said his country would not accept an independent Kosovo either as "punishment or reward."

Vuk Draskovic told reporters in Belgrade the province could become independent of the Belgrade government only through an imposed solution by the international community, Belgrade's RTS radio/TV reported.

An imposed solution would not bring happiness to the ethnic-Albanians, Draskovic said.

"Serbia won't recognize independence of Kosovo under any punishment or reward," Draskovic said. "It might delay Serbia's (European Union entry) bid, however, it will also turn off the European lights on Kosovo forever."

The Serbian government -- which represents 100,000 Serbs and ethnic-Albanians, who make up 90 percent of Kosovo's 1.8 million population -- have been participating in U.N.-led talks on Kosovo's future.

The ethnic-Albanians insist on Kosovo's independence from Belgrade, while the Serbian government is offering semi-autonomy to the province.

Following ethnic hostilities in 1999, the U.N. civil administration and NATO protection troops have been deployed in Kosovo to curb conflicts, and the ongoing talks should decide who will govern the province once the foreign administrators leave.

Good for them.

I hope Clinton spends eternity in Hell along side of Arafat for what he did to Serbia in support of the radical muslims in Kosovo.

It's amazing how Clark and Alnotsobright can manage to criticize President Bush at every step on Iraq but won't even look at the mess the left.

Ethnic Albanians moved into Kosovo -- as Serbian homeland, displaced and outbred the native Serbians, rebelled against the Serbs, waged civil war, and then took over. Then the liberals wander why the displaced, ethnically cleansed Serbs are ticked off.

Same thing has started to happen in the American Southwest with another ethnic group vs. Americans.

...the Serbian government is offering semi-autonomy to the province.

Horsecrap. The Serbs are offering the Albanians in Kosovo autonomy on such a high level that it is completely unprecedented in the entire history of this entire planet.

Here are the two starting negotiating points:

1) Serbs - Kosovo remains part of Serbia completely under Serbia's control.
2) Albanians - Kosovo becomes completely independent of Serbia and its own country.

The Serb offer of extensive and unprecedented autonomy extends way beyond the Albanians conterproposal which remains completely and unrealisticly locked in their mindless position of "nothing less than complete independence".

Milosevic is long gone and long dead. If the Albanians are unwilling to compromise, like the Serbs have obviously demenstrated, the true radicals have been exposed. The Albanians of Kosovo can be regarded as nothing less than unreasonable.

SNAFU....whose side are we on anyway? This wasn't even Clinton's mess. It started in 1948 by the CIA, couldn't get it off the ground because of Tito..then in the late 80's we bring the Muzzies to Bosnia, start that fight with Muh we trained.....Milo responds heavily handed...Clinton carries the torch and the agenda for the next two terms and Bush keeps it going. Next target, Macedonia and Southern Presevo, breakup of Bosnia......and finally on to the Russian states....simple chess game.

SERBIA: Tadic to Sign Agreement on US Troops' Status in Serbia

2006-09-05 13:06:40

http://www.seeurope.net/en/Story.php?StoryID=63298&LangID=1

During his visit this week to the United States, Serbian President Boris Tadic is to sign an agreement establishing the legal status of US troops in Serbia. On Thursday (7 September), he and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will sign a document that protects US military personnel from arrest and prosecution. US troops were given the right of passage through Serbian territory under the 1995 Dayton Agreement that ended the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina. All other countries in Southeastern Europe already have signed agreements with Washington on the legal protection of US service members.

In other news, Serbian Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic is in Brussels for meetings Monday with senior EU officials. The focus is implementation of the so-called "Package Plus", a set of measures aimed at enhancing the EU integration process. Belgrade unveiled it last month in an effort to resume negotiations on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the Union. Source: Southeast Europe Times

Draskovic says independent Kosovo would pose threat to whole region

Belgrade, 5.09.2006 16:10

Serbia will not recognize Kosovo's independence, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic reiterated today.

"Serbia won't recognize independence of Kosovo under no punishment or reward. It might delay Serbia's EU bid, however it will also turn off the European lights on Kosovo forever", Draskovic said in a press briefing attended by journalists of a dozen Kosovo's media.

Stressing that there is no other way for Kosovo's to Europe except the one that goes through Serbia, Draskovic reiterated Belgrade's preparedness to grant broad autonomy to Kosovo's Albanians, but rejected strongly once again any possibility of the state borders shifting.

According to Draskovic the eventual imposed solution on Kosovo would trigger "dangerous turbulences on the Balkans", hinting at Republika Srpska's breaking off from Bosnia & Herzegovina upon secession of Albanians in Serbia.

Kosovo will be in the center of the Serbian President Boris Tadic's visit to USA, scheduled to kick off on Wednesday.

Oh, I forgot to mention...In the near future watch for a provocation similar to the kids drowning, in March 2004. That riot was planned well ahead of time to take place in June 2004. It was planned to look like a march to mark the end of the bombing and liberation, whatever....and then it would turn into a riot. Day one, riot and provocation, Day 2...we burn the churches....This is actually true. However, the kids actually had an accident and this event was seen as an opportunity...the signal was given and the riot was launched three months ahead of schedule. This is not speculation, this is what happened.

Now, there will be some sort of provocation, that will be blamed on Serbian paramilitaries or military, etc...that will provoke the Albanians to riot again. Then, on cue, KFOR, UN etc...will establish a Peacekeeping force to keep the peace entering into Northern Mitrovica. Guess what will happen there? Yes, an effort to thwart partitioning and include Northern Mitrovica into the Kosovo Independent plans.......Hope I'm wrong, but only time will tell of this next provocation.

This won't be the first time such tactics will have been used. I remember way back when the war in Croatia first started a Croatian woman I worked with told me her cousins back in Croatia wrote her telling her Croatian paramilitaries were dressing in "Chetnik" uniforms, breaking into pro-Yugoslavia houses and killing the inhabitants in order to create an anti-Serb ground swell. It worked.

I also know the stripping of Kosovo from Serbia was planned long before Clinton took office. I remember hearing "Kosovo is next" was being muttered by mid-level state department officials while the elder Bush was still in office.

I've been following each of your posts very carefully since you've arrived at this site. Thanks for all the valuable information. Please be sure to add "Balkans" to the keywords in any threads you create. This is how I mainly keep up.
