Waiting on warrant protocol
The Justice Department doesn't plan to issue guidelines for executing criminal search warrants on congressional offices until after the legal wrangling with Rep. William Jefferson, D-New Orleans, is over, a top official said last week. "What is decided there (in the case) might be informative for us," Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty said in a brief interview.

Jefferson leads pack in postal privileges
Rep. William Jefferson, D-New Orleans, leads the Louisiana delegation in sending mail to his constituents at taxpayer expense, a new survey shows. An analysis by the online Hill Monitor showed that so far in 2006, Jefferson sent out 182,207 pieces of "franked" mail costing $22,958 in postage.

Financial report not rosy for iGate exec
Vernon Jackson, the Kentucky technology company CEO who pleaded guilty to bribing Rep. William Jefferson, D-New Orleans, reported that he was "past due" in making payments for $360,404 in loans when he asked federal court officials in April to appoint him a public defender. His financial condition was far different than he anticipated when he and Jefferson began working in 2001 to get his iGate Inc. contracts for high-speed Internet, cable and telephone services in Nigeria, a project the congressman said could be worth more than $200 million a year after the project's first year, according to FBI transcripts.

Caught red handed Jefferson should be treated just like Tom Delay was treated, and Tom will be found innocent, but Jefferson? Notice how no special prosecutor was necessary.I hope they roll up this Dim illegal fund raising network, and nail them all to the wall.
