MUST READS . . .
I'm soooooooooooooooooooo sick of hearing pundits and politicians alike declare that Republican candidates should distance themselves from President Bush in order to win in November . . . Idiots! . . . Perhaps they should take a closer look at the polls they all live and die by:
CNN POLL
8/30/06-9/2/06
Other than the AP, Pew and Newsweek polls, you can't get more Democrat-leaning than a CNN poll, yet CNN still reported the following:
Job Approval Ratings:
41%/55 (-14) President Bush
35%/57 (-22) Democrats in Congress
31%/64 (-33) Republicans in Congress

Methinks the President should be avoiding the Congressmen/women not the other way around!!
ANOTHER TERM FOR BUSH
Not too long ago I stepped out to lunch and happened to see a car with a bumper sticker that said in big letter 1.20.09. Not sure what that meant, I got closer to it and saw the smaller text beneath it, which said "Bush's Last Day." Quite pathetic if you ask me, but it got me thinking.
Towards the end of Bill Clinton's presidency, and on occasion after Bush took office, the occasional discussion over the two-term limit was discussed by a number of people. Liberals salivated at the idea of President Clinton doing nothing about terrorism, ruining our military, and for another four years. I can only have nightmares about what would have happened to our economy if Clinton presided over the recession that he caused.
President Bush, on the other hand, is fighting terrorism... he cares about the military... he fixed the economy. Another term for Bush would be a lot better than another term for Clinton.
No, I'm not advocating a change in the two-term limit. I think term limits are important, and two terms has been the tradition and the law and it ought to stay that way. Still, if there's any president who deserves a third term, it is President George W. Bush.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ON 9/11/06?
The Anchoress:
"Im going to pray all the hours of the Divine Office, including the Office for the Dead, and Im going to go to mass and pray for the living, particularly for the leadership of this country and our allies. I am going to watch a videotape of President Bushs remarkable speech to the joint sessions of congress - a speech I have no doubt CSpan and CNN will not be replaying, but which more and more I am convinced we all need to see again - and Im going to pray for our enemies
both foreign and domestic.
I dont especially need to remember 9/11. I remember it, exceedingly well, indeed and in much detail. But Im going to remember the days and weeks after 9/11 and wonder exactly how it is that some people can willfully forget or misunderstand so much. More on that insanity here.

I too plan to watch the President's brilliant 9/21/01 speech . . . I also plan to watch my video of the first anniversary of 9/11! . . . AND I plan to watch the President visit all three sites in real time -- I hope it inspires more Americans to REMEMBER the harm done to us and RECONNECT with our War on Terror (including the battle in Iraq)!!!
Oh yea, THE PRESIDENT WAS AWESOME TODAY!!
Thanks for your "must reads" as always.
DrDeb.....so funny you should mention term limits.....
today, I said to my husband, I know how to drive the Dims absolutely nuts.....begin a movement to have President Bush run again....or better yet....just keep him in office ...All Hail King George. lol. just kidding...sorta...
It's hard for me to think of him not being our President.
Thanks as always Deb. You always provide us with great material & we don't do any work other than take a few minute break from the Dose!
Thanks for the great articles........AGAIN!!
Yesterday the Democrats were all Cut and Run. Murtha was going to be Majority leader when Nancy takes the speakers chair. The Democrats were going to pull out of Iraq and bring the troops home by the first of the year.
They were all 100% behind Lamont's pull out of Iraq now and avoid the rush later stance. Then BANG... less than week later they are not cut and run.. they are almost stay the course. A week ago Hillary was down the tubes for not calling for cut and run.. and today the Democrats say they will stay the course only better.
Why would the Democrats do a 180 on Iraq? Do you think they looked at the internal polls and reasoned this is really working so lets change our tactics? Or do you think they looked at the polls and said... "This is terrible. We are getting creamed. We must try a new tactic."
In less than a week Democrats went from all Democrats must CUT and RUN or be run you out of the Democratic party, to we Democrats know what is at stake and we can do the war on Terror a lot better than Bush.
So here is my tatorism, Dr. Deb I know you are well aware of it. But for the newbies here is one you can take it to the bank.
Don't forget to also watch "The Path to 9/11" on ABS(whoops...ABC) at 8 PM on the 10th.
I'm going to make a sign for my car's back window that gives says "The Path to 9/11" - 8 PM on ABC...just to add more advertising to this VERY important show.
Rush raved about how important it was to see this, and if it tells the truth, as many have said it does...well then, let the truth be told with MANY watching!
