Muslim Nations Urged To Close Ranks; Colonial Powers Escalating Mideast Tension
Iran Daily ^ | September 5, 2006 | Staff

Posted on 09/05/2006 1:03:00 PM PDT by John Carey

TEHRAN, Sept. 5--Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday emphasized the need for Muslim states to use all capacities to help improve standards of living of their people.

The leader made the remark in a meeting with Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh, IRNA reported. “Iran attaches great importance to promotion of ties with Muslim states,“ he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that colonial powers and warmongers have always prevented Muslim nations from using the opportunities for utilizing their capabilities.

The leader also said that colonial powers escalate war and tension in the Middle East as one of their strategies to sell their weapons.

“In return for oil, western states are used to giving weapons to regional states so that they can always stir conflicts and disputes in the region. During the past 150 years, western countries have dark records of creating wars and massacres,“ he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that Iran opposes war and massacre, and is ready to transfer its expertise in the fields of science and technology to Muslim nations. The leader stressed the importance of building confidence among Muslim states, determining their position in the Islamic front and preventing mistakes. Guelleh, for his part, said Iran and Djibouti have common stances regarding regional and international issues.

“Iran is currently the frontrunner among Muslim states that resist the enemies of Islam,“ he said. President Ahmadinejad was also present at the meeting. In talks with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday, the Djiboutian president called for implementing agreements previously reached between the two countries and discussed ways of bolstering bilateral relations.

If they want to improve their standard of living, they need
to get rid of their Satanic pseudo-religion. Instead they
blame everybody else (the "infidels") for their total failure.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday emphasized the need for Muslim states to use all capacities to help improve standards of living of their people... unless of course that means staffing the universities with someone other than a medieval fanatics - I can remember the early days of the revolution, when they were trying to ban the teaching of "statistics" because "God does not allow random events" - based on recent statements, sounds like they are heading back there again.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that colonial powers and warmongers have always prevented Muslim nations from using the opportunities for utilizing their capabilities.

Unfortunately, he couldn't think of a specific example where this was clearly the case.
Nor did he even attempt to list the mysterious "capabilities" muslims are supposed to have. I have searched all my life and failed to identify even a modest one.

"In return for oil, western states are used to giving weapons to regional states so that they can always stir conflicts and disputes in the region."

Yeah, because peaceful muslims don't fight each other, in any of the subject regions.

Former CIA Director Woolsey on White House’s New Anti-Terror Document

By John E. Carey
September 5, 2006

Former CIA Director James Woolsey joined Neil Cavuto at the 4 P.M. hour on Fox News Channel Tuesday. The two discussed the president’s speech today and the rising tide of radical Islam.

The Radical form of Islam we are seeing in Iran and elsewhere is a “twisted version of Islam,” Woolsey said. He added that he had read in depth the anti-terrorism document issued by the United States today.

The White House today released a newly-drafted “National Strategy for Combating Terrorism” focusing on preventing terrorist attacks and denying terrorists the use of weapons of mass destruction or sanctuary in "rogue states.''

Woolsey said the significance of the document is that it reflects an evolution and hardening of the president’s thinking on the war against terror. Woolsey said, more and more, the president is now realizing how far=reaching and complex the war and terror will become.

The war against terror will last “a few decades and perhaps many decades” according to Woolsey.

The rise of radical Islam can be “likened to the era of the Spanish Inquisition” said Mr. Woolsey. During the Spanish Inquisition, religious purity was emphasized over all other personal traits and “infidels” could be killed for not following doctrine “purely.” Religious tolerance disappeared and pogroms killed off people of faiths deemed unacceptable.

Neil asked Mr. Woolsey, “how do we ultimately prevail over radical Islam?” Woolsey said he believed “Moving the world toward democracy and the rule of law is the way to go.”

Cavuto expressed frustration that we seem unable to move faster and more effectively against radical Islam. Woolsey said, “That is understandable … to be frustrated and I am myself, often.”

Woolsey closed with, “We need to help” the moderate Muslims because they can help us and they are basically under siege by the radicals who do not tolerate them.

"In return for oil, western states are used to giving weapons to regional states so that they can always stir conflicts and disputes in the region."

Iran is the one stirring conflicts in the region.

Why is he being coy? China is the one giving weapons for (discounted) oil. Russia just wants money for theirs.

I am so glad we are drilling our own reserves. At least that energy will be secure. Let China worry about the security of Iranian tankers.
