Since "Free Republic is an online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.", I and others think it's a good idea to centralize what the goes on in the Senate (or House).
So if you see something happening on the Senate/House floor and you don't want to start a new thread to ask if anyone else just heard what you heard, you can leave a short note on who said what and about what and I'll try and find it the next day in THE RECORD. Or if you see a thread that pertains to the Senate, House, or pretty much any GOV'T agency please link your thread here.
If you have any suggestions for this thread please feel free to let me know.
Here's a few helpful links.
C-SPAN what a great thing. Where you can watch or listen live to most Government happenings.
C-SPAN 1 carries the HOUSE.
C-SPAN 2 carries the SENATE.
C-SPAN 3 (most places web only) carries a variety of committee meetings live or other past programming.
OR FEDNET has online feed also.
A great thing about our Government is they make it really easy for the public to research what the Politicians are doing and saying (on the floor anyway).
THOMAS where you can see a RECORD of what Congress is doing each day. You can also search/read a verbatim text of what each Congressmen/women or Senator has said on the floor or submitted 'for the record.' [This is where the real juicy stuff can be found.]
Also found at Thomas are Monthly Calendars for the Senate Majority and Senate Minority
And Monthly Calendars for the House Majority and Roll Call Votes can be found here.
THE WAR DEPARTMENT (aka The Dept. of Defense)
That may all be true- but Cohen's morality aside- his statement on BOR's radio show is significant in light of the Democrat's continual drumbeat against the war in Iraq.
I think Bush has explained fairly well over the years, and just the other day, that our involvement in Iraq was not predicated on its formal links with Al Qaeda. However, the Republicans on that committee have much "splainin'" to do as to why they would go on record that way in the face of contrary evidence.
So...in other words...now in 2006, he is good at exposing the lack of attention the Clintonistas paid to OBL...but not so good at going afer him at the time???
Sounds like a good Clintonista to me!! LOL
Just thought I would tell you...that I saw on CNN that Pat Roberts ONLY issued a statement to dispute what Rocky and Levin said on the Senate floor....
Gee, thanks Pat...NOT!
Well, we can take some comfort in the fact that only a few of us even watched Rocky and Levin.
Forgive me .. I'm very slow today
Plus my computer is frustrating the bleep out of me
I don't get it .. isn't that what we want Pat to do?
Sorry...I should have explained that better...I think PAT should have given his rebuttal on the Senate floor...so anyone that turned to C-span would get the truth..and not just the lies of Rocky and Levin..
I am just so angry and frustrated that the GOP hardly ever get up and just "go off" on the dems for the LIES they tell "on the record"!
BUMPity-BUMP!
"Cohen said in 1998, they were focusing totally on Saddam and the weapons inspectors..."
What was BOR's response to that statement?
O'Reilly seemed surprised..and thanked Cohen for being so forthcoming with that information...
I hope O'Reilly developes on that!!!!
I was very disappointed last night...when O'Reilly DIDN'T go with that story on his TV show...
Hopefully, they are doing more research and will do it some time next week.
Great catch, TS.
Thank you...
.
Santorum is up talking about the reality of the terrorists .. and nailing a speech Reid gave
I heard Reid's nasty little speech...but, I would have been shocked if Reid said anything different..
I hope Santorum REALLY lets loose....the dems are traitors for trying to take down our POTUS over this war over these enemies.
Rick is yelling .. WOO HOO
Rick .. on my watch I am going to face reality .. it's too important not to
WOO HOO GO RICK GO!!
Durbin up now .. yep the president's speech upset them :0)
