The problem with the new media and fame. There isn't much to go around. The folks bringing us news from the "New Media" are, by and large, actually reporting news and digging into the news. They are not controlled and motivated by an add hungy corporation. They do not bring huge salaries. They are not on the cover of Time, Newsweek, etc. And they are not invited to the whitehouse for interviews with the president. Folks in the old media don't acutally do anything more than speak in front of a TV camera or click and paste a story in print.

Unfortunately, President Bush and his advisors still seem to be stuck in the 1970s with regard to the MSM. Thus, Katie Couric can have access to the President for a long interview, more so than a more friendly source like a Matt Drudge or a Rush Limbaugh. Additionally, there is a different standard for liberal critics like Couric or Jim Lehrer than for conservative ones like Michael Savage or World Net Daily. The earth will leave its orbit around the sun before Savage or Joseph Farah had access to the White House.

Of course, merely mentioning the names of Savage or Farah will bring on the usual gang of RINOs and pseudo-conservatives who regard them as dangerous extremists. Seldom do they express a similar dislike of the liberal spew from the MSM.
