Pedophile Professors
Accuracy in Academia ^ | August 31, 2006 | Malcolm A. Kline

Posted on 09/05/2006 5:36:03 AM PDT by JSedreporter

Apparently, it’s getting easier to find pedophiles in the faculty lounges of colleges and universities than it is in Catholic churches. “Why would any self-respecting boy want to attend one of America’s increasingly feminized universities?,” economist George Gilder asked in a column. “Most of these institutions have flounced through the last forty years fashioning a fluffy pink playpen of feminist studies and agitprop ‘herstory,’ taught amid a green goo of eco-motherism and anti-industrial phobia.”

“They routinely showcase such trendy trumperies as The Vagina Monologues, while sacrificing thousands of men’s athletic teams at the altar of Title IX.” There may be another reason why All American boys don’t want to look for tenured mentors.

“An Ivy League professor has been arrested for the third time in 11 years on child sex charges, in this case over video that allegedly shows him engaging in sex acts with boys,” the Associated Press reported this month. “Because of the charges, L. Scott Ward, a professor emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, was being stripped of his teaching assignments, spokeswoman Lori N. Doyle said Tuesday.”

“Ward, 63, was arrested Sunday after arriving at Washington Dulles International Airport on a flight from Brazil, federal authorities said.” But at least the school got rid of him.

“A former Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania professor facing child-pornography charges failed to show up for an extradition hearing in North Carolina last week, making him a fugitive,” Piper Fogg reported in the Chronicle of Higher Education this summer. “Richard W. Gibbs, 64, worked in the communication department at Shippensburg until April when police searched his office computer and found images of child pornography, according to the local district attorney.”

“The professor immediately resigned. He was arrested in June at his vacation home in North Carolina.”

“Additional charges have been filed against him in California and Ohio.” Why did this case never come up when a committee of the Pennsylvania legislature held hearings in which they were, allegedly, going to shine a spotlight on higher education in the Keystone state? It looks like law enforcement officials in North Carolina had to work that spotlight for them.

When the Catholic Church was rocked by scandals of priests committing child abuse, it formed committees and created a zero tolerance policy to prevent future abuses. Will the American Association of University Professors put its best and brightest to work cleaning house in the Ivory Tower?

“Brett A. Sokolow, a lawyer and president of the National Center for Higher Education Risk Management, which advises colleges on student affairs issues, says that many of his clients are seeking advice about whether they should or shouldn’t admit convicted sex offenders (though he says he gets more questions about whether colleges should hire sex offenders as employees),” Doug Lederman reported in InsideHigherEd.com in January.

If only they allowed Professors to get married ... all this would go away. Oh yeah ... professors are not celibate! Imagine that.

Colleges takes this stuff seriously.

If they really took it seriously, they would reform tenure policies. Tenure was meant to protect "speech" not pedophiles - and there's no place in the country with more restricted PC speech policies than the average campus. It's time to get real...

"Pedophile" is still enough to get people up in arms. But, of course, the root problem is homosexuals.

Two thirds of the priest scandals were homosexual, even though homosexuals are only maybe 5% or less of the population.

All of the professors mentioned in this article appear to be homosexuals.

What's the real danger here? Obviously, that these professors will seduce and victimize their students. But according to the latest politically correct spin, that's OK. They're just exercising their rights to be gay. So they have to tag them as pedophiles.

Please note that I am not excusing pedophilia. I am just pointing out that when you deliberately hire flaming homosexuals as teachers, the students will pay a price. And these guys are right out in the open, teaching courses glorifying homosexuality and running gay studies departments.

Tenure didn't protect the pedophiles; that was my point. Tenure is important. Do you really think that conservatives could keep their jobs without it? The primary problem with tenure is that it's hard to fire someone wtih cause. Pedophilia is one of the things, at least at my husband's college, that tenure does not protect.

Innuendos are lies.

No innuendo or witch hunt intended.

It's grammar. I'll state it more directly. The use of quotation marks in this context is usually an example of an "ironic" quote, is it not? For instance:

My brother claimed he was too “busy” to help me.

The quote marks communicated to me, as a reader, that the writer thought that the "abuse scandal" had no factual basis.

Do some air quotes while saying "priest abuse scandal".

As a reader, that's what I perceived. I doubt that is what you intended.

In an alarmingly high percentage of cases homosexuality heterosexuality is the same as pedophilia. Never trust a sexual deviant of any stripe near your children.

95% - 97% of all pedophiles are heterosexuals and 3%-5% are homosexuals.

Deviant sexual child molesters are almost always heterosexuals.

Of course for the "hate fags" crowd their motto is: "please don't confuse me with facts.

Actually, pedophilia is more prevalent in public schools and amongst protestant clergy than in the Catholic Church. It is even higher among educators. Yitzhak Borovsky, former kindergarten assistant and informal education instructor in an elementary school, was recently charged with 28 counts of pedophilia.      >>>>

Betrayal of trust (Coaches and Sexual Abuse)   this is primarily in only 2 of the 21 counties in NJ, most of the coaches taught in school or coached for schools.

This disorder affects all religious faiths in both married and unmarried clergy.  It affects all races, creeds and colors and income groups.   It's time that freepers and others stop attacking the Catholic Church and focus on "victims" of the abuse and ways to "end" this satanic disorder in our society and to keep disordered people away from the youth.

It's also time to expose the cover-ups in the education profession,  where most of the abuse  occurs and very little is reported.  A lot of it goes unpublished especially when the abuse is by a female teacher.    Most of the time, once an article is published in the newspaper that's usually the end of it.  You seldom read about reporters "editorializing" or pestering Superintendents and State education officials on how they are going to stop this epidemic in the schools.  You seldom see the words epidemic & scandal used when reporting the teacher abuses.  Not only are they brainwashing the students and inculcating the liberal, pantheist, Godless, Prayerless, valueless, environmental, homosexual, self-esteem, Outcome Based  and dumbing-down agendas in the classroom, far too many of them are abusing the kids too.

It was Dr. Carol Shakeshaft of Hofstra University who got the goods on how many public school children that have been sexually abused by teachers. You can find out a lot about it by googling "Carol Shakeshaft" --- I foundthis :

childrenwww.campusreportonline.net/main/articles.php?id=167

---and this---

"What is more frightening is that these sexual abuse cases are relatively small in number and scope, when compared to the hundreds of thousands of children in the United States, who have been or are being sexually abused by professional educators over a similar time period. A study conducted for the Department of Education, Educator Sexual Misconduct, found that about 10% of all school children will be the target of some sort of physical sexual misconduct by a teacher during their K-12 grade education.

"Carol Shakeshaft, who authored the study, points out that the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops found that about 10,667 children had been victimized by priests between 1950 and 2002. Based upon numerous studies which she has worked with, Shakeshaft extrapolated the number of school children suffering abuse by professional educators to about ten times that of the clergy!

"One study of 225 cases of admitted sexual abuse in New York found that none of the cases had been reported to police and only 1 person lost their teaching license..."

Thank you, Tokra, for supplying some figures for us to think about. We could all use more education on this topic.

I'm no expert, here, but it looks to me that ALL the statistics on homosexuality and pedophilia are highly controversial.

Consider this:

You write: "95% - 97% of all pedophiles are heterosexuals and 3%-5% are homosexuals."

But since homosexuals are only about 2% of the population, that in itself--- if accurate --- would suggest that homosexuals are perhaps more likely than heterosexuals to prey on pre-pubescent children.

Then there's this (from www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=27431):

"And Gary Schoener, a clinical psychologist who has been diagnosing and treating clergy abuse for 28 years, told Salon.com, "There are far more heterosexual cases than homosexual.

"In terms of sheer numbers, that may be true. But in terms of numbers of children abused per offender, homosexuals abuse with far greater frequency; and boys, research shows, are the much-preferred target.

"Baldwin says evidence he examined disproves the assertion that child molestation is more prevalent among heterosexuals. Both he and Reisman found that media coverage of adult homosexual abuse of minors is also slanted.

"The National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) recently boasted that although homosexuals are less than two percent of the population, three-fourths of the people who decide the content of the front page of the New York Times are homosexual," Reisman wrote. "

I found Dr. Jeffey Satinover's conclusions of interest: that there are fare more cases of heterosexual pedophilia since they comprise the vast majority of the population, but the behavior itself is more prevalent among homosexuals, who make up a much smaller sector of the populace.

(Dr. Jeffrey Satinover has practiced psychoanalysis and psychiatry for more than nineteen years. He is a former Fellow in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry at Yale University and a past president of the C. G. Jung Foundations. He holds degrees from MIT, the University of Texas, and Harvard University.)

So, TWO reports of pedophile professors makes an epidemic?

I agree that even one is too many, but seems to me as if this article is mostly hyperbole & scare-mongering.

Yes, you're quite correct. It's really a simple concept.

If you have a hundred people, of whom 10 are hetero pedophiles and 2 are homo pedophiles, then the hetero pedophiles outnumber the homos by five to one.

However, the radio of pedophiles in the hetero population is 10.204%, but the ratio of pedophiles in the homo population is 100%.

Oversimplified, of course, but the principle holds.

All other things being equal, any given heterosexual man is far, far less likely to molest a child than is any given homo.

The probability that a homo will commit pedaphilic acts is much higher than for heteros. Since homos make up less than 2% of the population even your figures show a 50% to 250% higher rate.

Meanwhile, I open my New York Post at breakfast today to read about the sicko "mayor of 99th Street"--a guy I pass regularly as he sits outside his building in a beach chair. I used to think it was superannuated and quaint. Now I'm nauseated.

It's nice to know there are colleges that will, at minimum, kick out people who rape children.
