Here is a link to McGruffs backup board if Free Republic is down click here which hasn't been happening much lately thanks to the fine work of the FR team.
As an aside, both stated that Santorum & Chaffee will not win re-election and DeWine is clinging to a cliff by his fingernails. Personally I could care less about Chaffee as he's consistently fought us tooth and nail but Santorum breaks my heart.
I don't pay too much attention to Zogby but when Rassmussen echoes his predictions my hairs stand on end.
Couldn't agree more and the 'slaughter' today was way over the top.
Biting finger nails down here too, over the TENNESSEE senate race. Slicker than snot Ford is running one tricky campaign.

"...Ford, 36, who threw a football when he was not signing autographs, glad-handing and posing for photographs, talked up his admiration for former president Ronald Reagan, a Republican... " (Gag me!)

"..Lobbying has emerged as a central issue in the U.S. Senate race, with allegations of hypocrisy and improper dealings with family members arising this week.
It started Tuesday night during the second debate when Republican U.S. Senate Bob Corker questioned the influence that Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Harold Ford Jr.s father, a Washington lobbyist, had on the congressman.
It continued the next day when Corker unveiled a television ad using a voiceover by former Republican Sen. Fred Thompson, who is registered as a lobbyist in Washington.
And the lobbyist theme persevered Thursday when the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported that Ford (D-Memphis) accepted a paid trip to Florida that was funded by one of his lobbyist fathers clients...."
Chris Matthews, Tucker Carlson, and I'm sure Keith Olberman later, are on a tear tonight and I bet it goes on for days and days. Discussing a book that says Bush conservatives mock religious conservatives. author David Kuo will make the MSNBC and CNN rounds soon I'm sure.
This is a political hit piece, it's serious, and George Bush needs to respond to this one asap.
7 toss up, senate races, Santorum and Chafee behind, and the rest could go either way. So said Carl Cameron.
If there's a race in the country where Republicans can take a senate seat away from democrats, it's New Jersey, said Major Garrett.
Obama campaigning for Menendez in a New Jersey church....is this legal?
The article mentioned Corker using Fred Thompson's voiceover in an ad but I'm not clear what the ad was about. Do you know?
Tony Snow was responding today at the press briefing, but that is not going to be enough. I appreciate the tidbits on Matthews. I'm always curious just how bad he's going to be, but I just can't watch him any longer.
OMG can you believe this despicable hypocrite! It's obvious the apple didn't fall far from his family tree. Where was his love for Jesus when he staunchly defended X42 for lying under oath or adultery? Only condemnation I heard was from Joe Lieberman while this punk used the impeachment proceedings to flirt with the cameras and with Ruff's assistant Cheryl Mills.
"Wouldn't it be great if the next generation of oil sheiks were just country farmers from west Tennessee?" he said, pointing out that his campaign bus used biofuel instead of gasoline.
His campaign bus may use biofuel but in good old DC 'this man of faith' drives a taxpayer funded Gas Guzzling SUV while he proposed that members of Congress drive hybrids or fuel efficient cars in a meeting with Members Of The Kingsport Times-News Editorial Board. "Other elements of Ford's proposed energy policy call for federal officeholders to drive either hybrid vehicles or 'cars that get the most miles per gallon,' in addition to developing alternative fuels." (Hank Hayes, "Ford Calls For Respite From Federal Gas Tax," Kingsport Times News, July 7, 2006)
Knight Ridder Reported In March That Congressman Ford Leases At Taxpayer Expense A Chevy Tahoe For His Washington DC Use That Cost Taxpayers $8,049.84 in 2005. ("Car Leases By Congress Members By The Numbers," Knight Ridder Newspapers, March 12, 2006
Harold Ford, Jr is very similiar to Bill Clinton, every bit as skilled a politician, and I don't mean that as a compliment..........to Ford or to the southern voters who will be swayed by his oozing charm, and his outright deceptive rhetoric.
He loved Ronald Reagan.
He loves Jesus.
His distance from the Black Caucus.
His new love of NASCAR.
His invisible (mentioned in passing) fiance. He says he has one, but won't introduce her publically until after the election. Wanna buy a bridge, voters? I'm betting Harold is just trying to appeal to voters who wonder why isn't he married? Why is his social life never mentioned?
Ford began the campaign with brilliant tactic, turning a liability into a perceived strength. "Don't talk bad bout my family!" Sounds admirable doesn't it? loyalty and love for his family, it don't get no better sounding than that, so who's going to bring up the corrupt Ford Crime family after that grandstanding? No one, to my knowledge has used it against him.
Very Clintonesque if you remember how Clinton prevented opponents from mentioning Hillary's questionable land deals in 92. Jerry Brown criticized HIllary during the first debate, and voters were oh so impressed at how Clinton loyally, angrily, jumped to her defense with "you don't deserve to be on this stage with my wife".
And I can't leave out "the race card". Newsweek's Meachum told Imus whites might not vote for a black senator. That lays a huge guilt trip on undecided voters, as intended. However, this issue might be affecting Ford's poll numbers. I mean white voters might be unwilling to tell pollsters they have no intention of voting for Ford for fear of sounding like redneck racists.
Well he may be on target as The Beltway Boys covered this very topic tonight with Barnes saying it isn't necessarily racist to not vote for a black candidate.
They also condemned Ford for bringing up an 18 year old issue over 4 illegal immigrants captured on some work site (?) owned by Corker. Apparently Ford knows full well that Corker hired a contractor and had no hand in hiring the workers but that's typical of the sneaky pete tactics Ford uses. In any event BOTH do not think Ford will win!!!!
The Beltway Boys
I watched too, sorta smug, I must say, that Barnes did mention race as a factor in the polling & the outcome.
And speaking of race, I think inadvertently, Imus comes close in his slavish support of Ford. Imus goes on and on and on about Ford being so impressive. "For a black man" is unspoken, but it surely is implied.
Hard, so hard, deciding what not to watch.

malia, you OK? Check in when you can please.
Good morning, ya'll. Wandering in sleepily.
It looks as though Imus has not landed anyone big to talk to this morning.
"Andy Rooney of CBS News will be our guest at 7:29am eastern. Rooney's new book, which some may say is appropriately titled, is called "Out of my Mind." It's a series of previously unpublished essays....
At 8:29am eastern we're going to speak with Ana Marie Cox from TIME magazine. That's right.. TIME magazine. The former 'Wonkette' girl has made it to the big time"
I think Ana Marie has climed aboard a sinking ship, but hey, inside the DC bubble, I guess it is still the "big time."
Addition, Jonathan Alter will also join Don.
