On Today show, Charlie Cook, of The Cook Report, says the compromise is positive for Rrepublicans because it shows senate republicans aren't marching in lock step with the president.
McCain tells Matt Lauer there will never be water-boarding used again.
Lauer tells McCain, " The president pretty much got what he wanted."
McCain says, "we got what we wanted, the US will not use torture".
McCain doesn't answer Matt's question, "Will Colin Powell be satisfied, have you spoken to him?"
It galls me to see Senator Schumer on Fox & Friends, using them as his presss agent. Railing against Chavez...I bet he called Fox for the booking.
When they asked him about the Shield Law he's working on, he said, it's a bipartisan effort, and then named Spector as balance to him and Dodd.
Bears do it in the woods, and the Pope wears a pinkie ring...I thought everyone knew.
Drats, I missed part of CNN's Jeff Greenfield on Imus. tellng us all about John McCain.
Oh . . . that!
Gotta run. Have a nice day.
So did I, but I did catch part of the Col. Jack Jacobs interview but I was having a hard time following his points. Something about we shouldn't have called it a War on Terror because there are so many different areas...
By the way I can't believe how much CNN is trying to make of this story. We known we told them you're either with us or against us. Musharraf made the smart call.

Musharraf, in an interview with CBS news magazine show "60 Minutes" that will air Sunday, said the threat came from Assistant Secretary of State Richard Armitage and was given to Musharraf's intelligence director. "The intelligence director told me that (Armitage) said, 'Be prepared to be bombed. Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age,"'... |
Wolfie said one of their reporters asked Armitage about it yesterday and he denied using those words. Let's see, who do we believe Musharraf or Armitage?

James Grimaldi of Washington Post gives kudos to the Public Integrity Section of Justice Dept, agreeing with a caller that the Bush JD has been strong going after capital hill criminals llike congressmen and lobbyists. Grimaldi says this wasn't true in the past, but then he just has to protect the Clinton administration, by saying, "of course in past years, Special Prosecutors were given all the juiciest cases."
Chitra Ragavan, of USNews, gives full credit for energized PIS of JD, to FBI Director Mueller.
Bill Walsh of New Orleans Times-Picayune reminds viewers for LA governor is serving time for corruption connected to casinos.
i emailed a question, "why hasn'tWilliam Jefferson been indicted?"
Meet the Next President: Hillary Clinton remains coy about run ^ |

Hillary Rodham Clinton, the most dominant figure in the crowded field of Democrats and Republicans mulling a White House bid in 2008, is also the coyest about her intentions. I am not thinking about that at all, the New York Democrat insisted on ABC last week. I know everybody else is and lots of other people are saying, Oh, she is, she is, but the truth is, I dont think about it. I havent made any decision about it because thats not how I think and how I work. Her assertion was seconded by former President Bill... |
Maybe that's was why he sounded like a defeated man.
As I've told my right wing coworker. She's the last great hope for the democratic party. If we defeat her they're done for.
Iraqi Tribes Turn on al Qaeda ^ |

Hutchison Coalition forces in Iraq have suddenly received the manpower equivalent of three light infantry divisions. They did not suffer any repercussions in domestic politics as a result, and now have a huge edge over al-Qaeda in al-Anbar province. How did this happen? Tribal leaders in the largely Sunni province on the Syrian border got together and signed an agreement to raise a tribal force of 30,000 fighters to take on foreign fighters and terrorists. These leaders have thrown in with the central government in Baghdad. This is a decisive blow to al Qaeda, which has been desperately trying to fight... |
He said that Armitage had told him, "Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age."
Armitage has disputed the language attributed to him but did not deny the message was a strong one.
Asked about the report, Bush said, "The first I heard of this is when I read it in the newspaper. I guess I was taken aback by the harshness of the words."
Armitage caught lying again?
Here's the part of Chris Matthews' transcript we were talking about yesterday:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14954768/
''MATTHEWS: Yes. But in the end, I guess theres a personal plea of mine for people to be honest when it matters. Like, you know, they poll people on ethnic questions. They say are you going to vote for Doug Wilder and he comes in 13 points ahead in the polls, and wins by one. The great Tom Bradley, who was such a credible, estimable police chief Los Angeles for all those years, and he ran twice for governor, twice he came out ahead in the polling and lost to a nobody named Deukmejian after the polling actually took place.
White voters tend to lie, some of them, to pollsters. That is why ethnicity, to me, corrupts our system. They say, well Im going to vote for this guy, sure, and then they go into the polling booth and dont.
MFUME: Yes. And history has proven that tends to be the case. And I dont know why. I mean, just tell the truth. I mean, it is easier that way, I think. And it is much more sincere. Now, I dont expect everybody to support every candidate that is different from them in terms of religion or race or everything else, but when youre asked a question, you ought to at least know. And if you dont know, just say, I dont know. I think people can live with that. "..

Bill Clinton's legacy is eating his soul from the inside out.
Fox and Friends showed a little clip of Bubba pointing that crooked finger at Chris Wallace. Will have to watch Fox News Sunday tomorrow even though I can't stand Wallace's interviewing techniques.
#10 graphic says it all, doesn't it, YaYa!
Like McGruff, I don't care for C.Wallace much, either.
I was going to FF through the bent one's interview, as I do usually.
But this portion I have to see.
I still think UBL is alive, if not well. I'll bet we'll hear an audio tape from him next week, just to prove this story wrong.
I'll have to get up early, to watch BJ Clinton wag his finger. Should be fun to see him get POed!!
Thanks
Don't you know? It was all Bush's fault.
You can always catch the replay on FNC at 6PM EST.
This guy was humping Richard Clarke's new book worst than Imus would have.
Michael Savage had on a guy a while back who carried the 'football' for Clinton. He claimed that there was credible evidence for the location of bin ladin and we could have taken him out. Clinton couldn't be bothered because he was watching golf on tv.
Ya know...there's a mongo crap storm looming on the horrizon that Billy Bulbous-nose and Cankles should have seen coming on the radar.
The Grifters will realize that The Grifter Bus that they threw so many people under, is now a Speed bus barreling out of their control--racing too fast for them even to jump off, much less stop.
The years of lies mixed with their fomenting rage, they will discover too late, was a deadly ferment of fuel that they pumped into The Grifter Bus gas tank.
Not even Team Grifter can put out all fires all the time.
"Not even Team Grifter can put out all fires all the time".
But we do know what the DBM can and will do -- just not cover the story!!!
I thank Jim Robinson, as we all celebrate 10 years of FreeRepbulic, giving us a voice!!!! and a responsibility!!!! of not letting those issues be covered up.
clinton's action on FoxNewSunday (I've only seen clips) will be turned into how he wagged the finger, got red ---- not what he said and how he and Clarke's book are rewriting history!!!
