Interesting story. Brokaw is obviously a fan of Rudy.
that was an interesting revelation funny about Brokaw's daughter.
"there is one area where we haven't done a good job, and there are many areas where I don't think we've done a good job", said Brokaw. Today, a day of remembrance for most of us.........but not the Bush bashers who will take hte opportunity to do what they do best.
Brokaw says that people out in the west don't feel a terrorist threat, they are worried about gas prices and why isn't someone doing something about it. He also bemoans the fact that we haven't done anything about "root causes" (a lefty favorite), one of which he thinks is the "disenfranchisement" of these young men in the middle east. The only way to enfranchise these guys is to recreate the Caliphate and impose sharia law. They are not looking for nice jobs and a tract home.
The one and only Warner Wolf on by phone.
What a story. Warner was ten blocks away, watching it all from on top of his building. He called Imus and was on the air when the first building came down.
I'm watching Matt Lauer interview Hillary at ground zero. He's trying too hard to get her to criticize Bush. not working. Hillary very subtle. She had to agree with Rice, "yes, we're safer now than we were on 9-ll". She will not overtly criticize Bush on this day, no matter how hard Lauer tries.
"This is Katie Couric. Good night, and good grief!"
Warner's suggestion.
As you know, I can't watch any of the children's shows.
LOLOLOL
I think her problem is that she really isn't very smart.
I'm listening to Andy McCarthy on Bill Bennett's program and he is saying something that I don't think I have heard before from a "public" figure, which is that the fringe element of Islam are those who will actually strap on the bomb belts but he estimates at least 45 to 50% of muslims support the agenda. Bob Kerrey on the other hand just said that he doesn't think most muslims want to kill us. McCarthy is right and Kerrey is wrong.
Bob Kerry follows Tim Russert talking point example. Both, and others to follow, compare the 3000 lost on 9-11 to the 3000 killed in Iraq and 20,000 wounded. Implication? Bush has killed more Americans than Bin Laden.
Good one Warner.
Rudy on now.
Come Jan 09, I want him in the White House.
Brokaw said he remembered being reminded of Churchill when he watched him rising to the occasion after the attack on 9-11.
Oh, and after he wins the GOP nomination he needs to pick someone like Jeff Sessions as his running mate.
"Guess I'm not in the mood."
I understand.
At various times, especially 9-11 anniversaries, I go through all the emotions of that day - anger, sadness, disbelief, fear, . . . - but today and maybe just today, I want to move on. But I'm still pissed.
I just went out to the mailbox to mail some letters. It's amazing how much today feels like Sept. 11, 2001. The weather is almost identical to that day here 100 mile from ground zero. I looked up in the sky and here was an airliner peacefully fly along. Weird.
That was my first and primary emotion and it hasn't changed in 5 years.
If he's dead we got him. If he's alive we'll get him.
Pres. Bush or Dick Cheney a while ago.
After watching Fox & friends replay of their 9-ll coverage, now watching Today Show, I've got to say, FOX was much more astute, significant, and long before Matt and Katie, surmised it was terrorism, and even mentioned Bin Laden almost immediately.
at 9 am , TODAY is still talking to a woman on the street
