I'm tired of all these voter intimidation claims. Show me some evidence!

Hey, Karl Rove is making it rain in Detroit, AGAIN!! That has to intimidate the Dems!!!

Isn't working that well; voted at 10:00 AM. I was voter number 51.

In August, I voted at 1:30, I was number 19.

BTW, I miss the old voting machine, felt like I was taking the old Iowa School tests.

Well, looks like we're screwed in Michigan. Fred Thomson, "We'er going to the tick-tock, to up up the boo-boo", actor/Senator is on WJR.

Looks like Ford has lost, well that's good news. Well I'll hope for the best.

WEDNESDAY, 8 NOVEMBER

I'm up at 4;00 am est, to face the new day. I'm a year older, Democrats have won the House, and it looks as if they've won the Senate too, still waiting on Montana and Virginia. But it looks like Burns and Allen will be goners too.

Craig Crawford is on with Matthews, calling Bush "stubborn and delusional". "He's not only a lame duck, he's an invisible lame duck", Crawford said. Matthews calls this a "total collapse for Bush".

I think I'm in shock at how badly this election has turned out...but maybe I shouldn't be.. I mean, didn't we see, or at least, fear this coming? I'm certain tomorrow (actually today), I'll be impressed all over again with the way President Bush handles defeat. He'll be great, and we'll be proud of him.

Harold Ford, Jr. lost. Hot damn!!! and it had nothing to do with his color. He lost because he played the Jesus card, offending everyone, and I couldn't be happier. I hope his brother lost too.

David Schuster is reporting from Richmond, saying the Allen campaign isn't sure what it will do with only 10,000 votes separating. There is a question about missing military absentee ballots, provisional ballots, but Matthews says NBC has not projected a winner, even thoough Webb has claimed victory.

Matthews says this was a tsunami....voters angry with the corruption. For once, I can't argue with him. I think "corruption" cost us dearly. And personal ambition killed us too. Too many ambitious congressmen quit to run for higher office. Like Katherine Harris.

Sadly, Rick Santorum paid the price for whatever conservative voters were angry about. my heart aches for him. He's a class act, he's the best we had in the Senate and we lost him. MSNBC just replayed his concession speech, unable to watch without crying with him.

Chris Matthews says Dan Abrams told him MSNBC was first of all the networks, with winner projections. I know one thing for sure, MSNBC and CNN graphics were better than FOX. I finally had to quit watching Brit and his panel. Snafus, glitches, all his panel members were stuttering, they made mistakes, and the graphics were just awful. Brit couldn't read them, viewers certainly couldn't. I don't know what was wrong with FOX, but they were off their game last night.

Imus asked David Gregory when we'll hear results on Montana and Virginia. Gregory says pretty soon for Montana, and later in the day for Allen.
Imus asks Gregory what will Democrats do. First thing out of his mouth is "supoena power", "hearings". "they can do a lot", he says.

Gregory says many dems who won are middle of the road, moderates, like Schwartzznegar. I think dems who won did so by going over that middle line, they ran like conservatives.

230 Democrats in the House now, but some races aren't decided, says Gregory.

Good job, YaYa.

Now more than ever, pray for our troops in harm's way; they can hear the enemy cheering. Chris Matthew's dreamy musing about our troops having to shoot their way out of Iraq and Afghanistan is a dream shared by the jihadists.

And, please, everyone, now more than ever, pray for Israel as Hezbelloh digs in in Lebanon, and the U.S. stands down.

Well you would have thought that with the RATs taking control of the House like Imus wanted he would be in a good mood. Not so. He's in just as foul of a mood as yesterday. Maybe that's because of between his 4 candidates that he supported only 1 won.

Pat Buchanan was on at 6:30 and had some pretty rational comment about this being a critical time for the War in Iraq and if the cut and runners get their way it will be a more important defeat than Vietnam because of the location.

Imus took some shots at J. D. Hayworth that were below the belt. I hope the people of Arizona elect him senator some day.

I would like the next republican presidential candidate to take a close look at Rick Santorum for V.P.

I heard some analyst say this morning that most of these new democratic congressman are middle of the road democrats and probably won't go for any hard left agenda.

Harold Ford, Jr. calls Imus to apologize for losing. How silly/phoney/theatrical is that?

51% to 48% = Solid loss

Ford, Jr. won't take bait to bash Corker...not yet, he'll analyze the reasons why later, he says. Which translates into Redneck Racism will be blamed, and Harold will move on to big bucks job on some slime' payroll.....till he can run again. And he will.

Imus had no problem claiming racism against Ford Jr. today even though Barnicle Boy said that wasn't the cause for Ford's defeat.

Also Imus got p*ssed when Russert had to reschedule because of other commitments (Today Show) and Imus canceled him. Not in good moodski today.

And Imus was mocking Brian Williams anchoring of NBC's coverage last night. Come to think of it he didn't have anything good to say about anybody.

Harold Ford, Jr. is one of the worst phonies I have ever seen. I am taking some pleasure in his loss. I simply cannot believe that the race in Virginia is in the condition it is.

I didn't have anything good to say about FOXNEWS last night, might as well complain here too. Their graphics were awful....simply AWFUL!! Brit couldn't read them, he said so more than once, and I couldn't read them, even on my huge fancy screen in the family room. The results from race to race moved ten times faster than could be humanly read. The FOX screen was tooo busy, with too much information all mixed together, impossible to decipher!!!

And this was the final blow. None of Brit's panel seemed prepared. They hadn't even practiced how they would pretend they didn't know results they were forced to keep from us until an appointed time. Amateurish as they played with words, way too cute by half. Like: "Now Fox isn't predicting a Ford loss...but if they were...".

I'm sad to say, CNN won my vote for best graphics, and best explanations of them. Blitzer, Greenfield, and even John King, did great jobs pointing to results, and explaining them, AND while they were doing so, some producer didn't put other disconnected results on the screen, like they did all night long at FOX.

and pardon my frivolity:

the best line describing last night came from Bernie (or was it Charles), on Imus this morning. One of them said, Hillary was so fat she looked like a school bus in her yellow suit.
I didn't see her till replays this morning, but I was more taken with her Elvira eye make-up. Now I too am an occasional fan of dated, old fashioned blue eye shadow.....but not extended over the eyebrows please!!

So sorry your birthday had a horrible ending but the fact that Ford Jr. lost is a small consolation. Somehow the media hasn't accepted his loss and sees big things for him in the future. His concession speech last night lasted almost as long as former President Clinton's departure from DC in 2000 and he's definitely paving the way for a comeback. With the MSM on his side how can he lose?

Matthews, who inferred all along that a loss in Tennessee would prove that racial bias in the South is alive and well, didn't pass the smell test and had to admit as much last night with Ford receiving 48% of the vote. He's now joined the chorus in blaming it on the 'race baiting' ad from the RNC not recognizing any missteps in Ford's campaign.

Imus finding glee in the battle brewing between Scarborough and Matthews and I must admit I too find it interesting. No one has been more critical of our party than Scarborough and to be blamed for bias by Matthews, no less, is pot calling kettle.

Looking forward to hearing from the President at 1:00 and will then take a reprieve from listening to the dems crow. HGTV/Food Network here I come until a recount is announced in VA.

Oops FNC just showed a mug shot of Bill Nelson's son who partied a bit too much last night and got into a scuffle with the authorities.
