I love it!! David Gregory is on phone with Imus saying the 9 am MSNBC news will feature Kerry's call to Imus.

And last night I heard Democrat strategists predict this would be a one day story then forgotten. LOL!

MSNBC morning news with David Gregory:

Demo strategist Jamal said Kerry just messed up a joke. he's denying democrats are running away from kerry. he said this is "inside DC" no big deal, he says

Republican Mark McKinnnon respectfully disagrees. "who knew Kerry would be the one to deliver the Republican's October surprise? ", McKinnon
says.
"The problem is, words have meaning, and Kerry's being criticized by military families and democrats.
(Gregory quotes a anonymous democrat who says Kerry isn't content with losing 2000, now he wants to lose 2006 too)

Gregory asks if Kerry compounds the problem by 2 statements, a press confrence, and now an Imus appearance. Jamal says "no", and repeats this story wasn't even on the front pgge of the Nashville paper today.

Mark McKinnon says of Kerry, "if you're having to keep on explaining, you're losing". Kerry is incapable of apologizing, McKinnon says. McKinnon says, no I don't think Kerry was trying to insult soldiers, but that's what he said, and he should have apologized for it. McKinnon disagrees with Jamal that this story will be over and meaningless.

David Gregory finishes the interview by saying we'll have much more on the Kerry controversy later. LOL David...keep it coming!!!

The Democrat strategist bragged the Kerry flap wasn't even on the front page today in TN newspapers. I don't know if that's true, but The Memphis Commercial Appeal and The Nashville Tennessean did cover it.

Andrea Mitchell will interview Lynne Cheney on MSNBC at 11 am EST. David Gregory says she will "weigh in" on the controversy.

And here's Imus' phone call with Kerry on youtube. wish it were longer, maybe someone will post the rest later.

November 1, 2006 - ABC news is reporting that Senator John Kerry has cancelled all appearances today - including a campaign stop in Philadelphia with Pennsylvania U.s. Senate candidate Bob Casey.

Darn!

I do believe that a FREEP that was planned yesterday for Kerry's appearance in Philadelphia is STILL going to happen..the Freepers are going to try to ask the candidate, Sestak?,...if HE will excuse what Kerry said..

IOW..we need to make any dem candidate either agree or disgree with Kerry...

What an awful time for me to sleep from 5 am to 10 am!!! Couldn't sleep last night. I have a lot to catch up on.

Atleast I have the recording of Imus, dvd, to watch later!
But I have to listen to Rush in about a half hour too.
Thanks to everyone for all the hotlinks!

Imus has got to be loving the attention he's getting today.

Excerpt from Kerry apologizes for "botched" Iraq joke

A day after rejecting calls to apologize for his remarks, Kerry, appearing on the "Imus in the Morning" radio show on MSNBC, declared: "I said it was a botched joke. Of course, I'm sorry about a botched joke."

Imus's head will be about twice as big tomorrow morning.

48 hours later, Gene Robinson of Wash Post tells Chris Matthews the Kerry flap will last a day more, and it will have no impact.
Robinson adds, but maybe Kerry did mean what he said.

Christopher Hitchens says of course it was a mistake, it was those incredibly funny jokes about how stupid Bush is, that Democrats love to tell.

Really good piece by Hugh Hewitt on Kerry's disdain for the military and the reaction.

Oh what fun!! Good Morning America and Today lead with Kerry, and both show the fabulous misspelled Banner from Iraq. Claire Shipman says the soldiers are from a Minnesota National guard unit.

James Carville denies Kerry hurt democrats. He quotes the Dallas Morning News to prove it. Michael Smerconish debates and shows a PA paper with the front page picture of Kerry with foot in mouth.

Sheryl Atkinson, CBS, says Foley's replacement is ahead in some of the polls in that district. She says republicans are in trouble, and cites "the 5 scandal seats".

CBS Harry Smith shows Iraq banner too.
where to find Letterman's Top Ten from last night. All about Kerry. hee hee ( David Letterman said Kerry is so upset, he's walking around with a long face.)

Here is the thing that amazed me more than anything in my recent memory. No one was out there defending John Kerry with the notable exception of...drum roll...the reporters and pundits of the main stream media. And it wasn't because Kerry is a good guy, he isn't. They all know he's a pompous ass. All he needed to be to have the MSM rush to defend him was a democrat. The lines are drawn. If you are a Republican, they will relentlessly try to destroy you whether you warrant destruction or not. But if you are a dem, there is no sin worthy of disapprobation. None.

Letterman # 10

Top Ten John Kerry Excuses

10. Lightheaded from too much Botox

9. Hasn't been himself since he heard Bob Barker is retiring

8. Remark was an ill-conceived, careless blunder, kind of like the war

7. Just displaying that famous wit that cost him the 2004 election

6. Hoped saying something really stupid would make him seem more presidential

5. Too much Halloween candy

4. Relax, the election is months away

3. So I botched a joke -- Letterman does it every night

2. On the advice of his friend Mel Gibson, he's blaming it on the Jews

1. "Hey, it was still funnier than most of the jokes on this list"

Howard Fineman (such a mistaken last name for this guy) will be coming up shortly. Will the MSM abandon the protection of the dem party as personified by John Kerry. Imust just put up the soldiers banner about being stuck in IRAK.
