This distrit is very conservatives. I think that this seat is very safe.....The only concern that I have is the primary has been very dirty and hope it does not reflect...I will vote for him and imagine that all the other Republicans will vote for him also...He is conservative...
I am kindly asking you to pull the threads of those who are out-right trashing the nominee to be, Harris.

If this is true, then I'll say BRAVO to Harris and glad that she won the primary. If they could be 'threatened' by Harris & Co, it's probably good that they didn't have any candidate against the Dims.
Because KH and her supporters made it clear they'd burn down the whole damn plantation if somebody tried to take "HER" nomination away.
I sure wish we had that power...LOL

So Ms. Harris won because her opponents were cowardly back-stabbers, too afraid to oppose her openly, but willing to sabotage her campaign, the party, and the country, by carrying out an anonymous whispering campaign against her, I guess that makes them the heroic leaders that you prefer!
"Why didn't any other Republican, save Jeb"
Last year, some FL GOP officials approached Joe Scarbourgh of MSNBC fame to challenge Nelson. When news of this broke, the Katherine fan club alluded to bringing up the case of Scarbough's dead intern in 2001 should he run. Needless to say, Scarbough decided against running for the Senate.
I'm really going out on a limb here, but here goes.
Please read the last sentence of Posting #457.
District 13 is a Majority Republican district. There are more GOP than Dem.
The evil Harris banned other Republicans from contending, probably casted a spell on them or something.
Clobbering third-rate candidates with an unspectacular margin. Hardly a victory.
"She was elected twice to Congress by significant margins."
Nope, she was elected by unimpressive margins, running behind the President, and failed to improve on her initial victory. Her GOP predecessor, Dan Miller, routinely scored well over 60-65% of the vote and ran far ahead of Dubya in 2000.
I've heard the same arguments ad infinitum, and I've refuted them ad infinitum. KH hasn't won a statewide election in FL since 1998, when she was unknown. Being unknown helped her win. It won't help now, because she is about the most well-known figure in FL. She can revel in her selfish victory, because it won't get us anything in November. Now that she has her vindication, she should do the right thing and step aside for a candidate who can win... that's what a responsible Republican would do.
Sounds like the Bush bashers on DU. Bush is so inept, so stupid but he keeps winning.
Hey, maybe Harris hacked into Diebolt?
"The Dem turnout for their primary is significantly less. Davis and Smith are running neck and neck."
That's the best news I've had all night.
This is really all about November, and let's hope the Dems can't turn them out then either.
There was talk of having Mario Diaz-Balart run. But FL GOP officials decided against it. They thought the public would not go for 2 Cubano Senators.
If you truly believe that, then you are totall off your rocker, off you meds, or both.
Admin moderator, I trust this reply is more acceptable to you.
10% is still landslide proportions. Historically, the District has been Rep since 1983 so I think that Buchanan has a good shot at holding it.
"Not bad for an "inept Senate candidacy."
49% plurality against 3rd tier candidates. That is not impressive, that is embarrassing. That means more than half the primary voters went with somebody else. It's why she'll be lucky to get 35% in November.
