I do not know how to tell you this but they have not spent one penny helping Katherine....Yet almost fifty percent of the Republicans in this state so far are supporing her. Those that have bashed her never ever gave her those odds....If I remember it was only thirty five percent....Well that was wrong...They had better give her some support or they may pay big time....I know allot or Republicans here in Florida that are pretty upset with the way they have done her....

For me, the main race will be the Minnesota Senate race, between Kennedy and Klobuchar. It's quite close, and could go either way. Since it's a current GOP seat, it's very important that it be held.

So, since I live in Minnesota, and the race is winnable, I will be putting all my time and effort into that race. I'm already walking precincts, and will be doing much more than that.

What are you doing in Florida to support your candidate?

I am only interested in winnable races. I have far too little time and money to waste on losing battles. Your experience may differ.

I look at it this way, Joe: the election is tonight. Tomorrow we continue united as a party to defeat 'rats. Crist isn't my choice, but if he wins, he'll get my vote over Davis or Smith. I think he will not be an effective or conservative leader. I hope I'm wrong.

Some smart alecks don't give Kate a chance to beat Nelson. That won't stop me from supporting her if/when she gets the nod.

For me, it isn't about making a game of "gotcha" out of this, and I'm sure it is the same for you.

I know there are teenage girls who are trying to make these elections into a mere video game or opportunity for a flame war.

I say just blow 'em off. They're insignificant, really--whether we find 'em on the 'net, on the news, or on the street.

For example, you should've seen the berating I took when I marched with my "vote for Kerry--he'll give us higher taxes/gay marriage/Yasser Arafat in the White House" signs around the town's voting booths in 2004! I ignored the punks (of all ages and sexes--young noobs who thought they were special and some were in their 60s!) and just kept marching for what was RIGHT! Whether I convinced anyone, I don't know. But I stuck with the truth. And that is why I can sleep at night and that is why I can ignore the non-entities who can't vote in our state or who don't have conservatism's values as a priority.

And believe me, brother, they're all over the place.

You don't? I think it's obvious. It's in every one of his posts.

"I don't understand why you don't like her. But that's just me."

It's not so much that I don't like her. She cannot win. That is why no money is being spent on her campaign by the party. They'll now spend a token amount, but the party money is going to races where there is a chance, like the Senate race in Minnesota.

I think she should have stayed in the House. I think Jeb Bush should have run for the Senate seat. Neither happened. I'm outa this one.

FYI, Detert's lead is down to 4% over Buchanan with roughly 47% of precincts reporting. Hudson appears to be out of it (in more ways than one).

Well, let's say people that have supported Harris accept your opinion she's a flake.

Explain to me why Murkowski of Alaska and even Martinez in Florida are not flakes in their own right?

Being a lightweight has never stopped the GOP from supporting someone before. And certainly Martinez owes his career to the President and Jeb Bush, as he barely won his election.

Yet for some reason the GOP took a dislike to her and waged an underhanded campaign against her, while pretending they were doing no such thing.

They didn't do so because she was a "flake". IMO, they did so because the cowards fear Democrats moaning about tolen elections. Even though G.W.B. and jeb both won re-election, didn't seem to matter. As well she's not a part of their country club, and as such was unacceptable.

If she's a weaker candidate now because they didn't surround her like they did Murkowski and Martinez, that's their fault.

Maybe not. Early in this thread somebody said Floridians have a long memory regarding the Christ/Gallagher race.

Maybe some of us remember Harris as the woman who shut down the algore chad party in Palm Beach. Maybe.

Go here and you will see the error.....giving Harris 59%

Surprising since this is the paper owned by the NY Times which hates KH second only to GWB.

The unfortunate but undeniable truth is that Katherine Harris has done more to keep Bill Nelson in office than anything the Dems could have done.

Somebody must like her. She is winning in the primary--handily.

"Maybe some of us remember Harris as the woman who shut down the algore chad party in Palm Beach. Maybe."

Fine. Give her a medal or a plaque or something. That was a long, long time ago. She got into the House. A good place for her. Now she's going to be out of work. Fine reward.

Sorry, but she did her job. She got a reward for it. The Senate's too important for that nonsense.

I believe that's the honorable thing to do, given my posts over the last few weeks. I might have ignored it altogether, but that would show poor character in my part.

Ah, I see. "Let us move on..." hold hands, kumbaya. The old conciliatory tone. Just like Japan suddenly became a peaceful nation after having two A-Bombs dropped on them, so are you guys when the candidate you despise ends up winning her primary.

Too bad that all that "let's do the honorable thing" was non-existant since Harris announced her Senate run. You laughed at her, made fun of her, said her campaign was fumbling, just like the Dims did during the 2000 election. Never mind that 90% of Harris' "fumbling" was the biggest media conspiracy since the days of Goebbels.

So again, give me a break. If Harris would have lost, the name-calling and photo-shopped pics would have reached the boiling point. You just don't understand how it feels to be dragged in the mud by your own party and the media and expect to trust people again.
