JACKSONVILLE · Republican Charlie Crist on Sunday condemned the release to news organizations of confidential court papers showing that he denied being the father of a child born in 1989.
"It's sad. The most scurrilous thing I've heard of in Florida politics," Crist said about the documents e-mailed to news organizations Saturday, three days before Tuesday's Republican primary for governor.
The campaign acknowledged the documents, including a consent form signed by Crist allowing the baby girl's adoption, appear to be accurate.

Wow. I don't care much for Crist- but this says more about his opponents(s) than about him, I think.

Dems with no ideas, no honor and no integrity doing what they usually do. Trying to destroy their oppponent with invasions of privacy.
I hope there is a huge backlash over this desperate act.

I'm getting sick of reading about this witch hunt.
How about talking political positions instead?

But in her affidavit, she acknowledged she was living apart from her husband when the child was conceived and that he was not the child's father. Notice how the paper prints this almost at the end of the story, after the casual reader has stopped reading. Media bias against Republicans? Nah!

This idiot isn't worth being elected trash collector, much less Governor of a popular state. Too bad FL has term limits. Jeb was an awesome Governor.

How do you know Gallagher is behind this?

"...never mind!"

You have to watch out for skeletons in the closet - especially if you are a Republican.
Ted Kennedy, on the other hand, has more skeletons in his closet than a haunted house.

From the comments I've seen Crist supporters make on FR,they are not truly conservative for the most part. They may like to think they are, but a true conservative does not support embryonic stem cell research. Crist said he would have supported the bill that President Bush vetoed! That should be enough for any conservative to count him out. Methinks FR has RINO's afoot!

Well, for the record, Gallagher denies any involvement.
And that if any staffers are involved, they are fired.
You can make of that what you will, a politicians word is not exactly golden, but you better have some cause to back it up. Other than an assumption Crist's Republican opponent is behind it just because they are, well, opponents.
It could just as likely be the Dems and Lib media trying to affect the outcome and/or weaken a possible opponent.
Or Crist himself.
Or none of the above.
Not saying he isn't, but I am saying you better at least have some strong circumstancial evidence to give rise to that claim.

gallagher's followers have been running around handing out these flyers and signs saying , do you trust a single guy as governor , or someone that has his father as his financial person . the attacks are very very personal .
it could also be a dem operative too trying to kill off the front runner in the primary .
do you see gallagher out trying to dismiss this crap ?
gallagher is a loser, his links with the homeowners insurance mess this year in fl is a fatal flaw!
the rates went up this year 300-400 % under his leadership !

Backlash? no way. How do you think Obama won? His first opponents divorce papers were made public, so he withdrew. Then they scrambled to find a replacement which was Keyes. There was no outrage here in Chicago, only the smug look of democrats and union thugs warning others who "don't play ball" that the same could happen to them.
Not one dem here had outrage. Republicans are fair game for anything and everything. Not only do the dem appointed judges play along, they are usually the ones releasing the information at the behest of the dem power players.
