Well, he's just showing the true nature of a bully, ruffian, hate-monger, two-bit thug that he is. Considering that most Democrats resemble Bob Beckel, we can pretty much say that this is the true nature of the Democratic Party as well.

Yep - he is a type I never liked much since childhood. A bit gruff and trying to play a faux working class guy, with his one good sportcoat that he would cart out for special occasions and wear it into the ground.

Beckel is, as you say, a bully who has to resort to cheap shots when he can. He is one of the reasons I am not a big fan of Sean Hannity - whenever Beckel appears on Hannity & Colmes, Sean lets him get away with way too much. Sean means well, but he is too slow witted to keep Beckel honest (admittedly only a bit less daunting than cleaning up The Augean Stables).
