The image of featureless steel structures catastrophically crumbling into a fatal dust storm was indelibly imprinted on the minds of millions of people around the world. Yet the enormous plumes of smoke, the soaring balls of fire and the sheer scale of the buildings masked the human face of the tragedy. For the first time, through drama supported by interviews and archival footage, TV audiences will be invited to venture inside the towers to follow the stories of more than a dozen individuals whose daily routine is swept aside by events that changed the world forever.
Based on the testimonies of survivors, victims’ families, emergency workers and city officials, Inside the Twin Towers opens with a glimpse of the everyday world of work and office life. It is easy to relate to Melanie de Vere, the 30-year-old British publishing executive helping to host a conference in the North Tower, and also with Stanley Praimnath, a banker devoted to his religion and family. We meet Hong Zhu, the broker who was caught up in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, and Jan Demczur, the window cleaner who knows so many faces throughout the buildings.
In an instant, fate decrees who will have the opportunity to escape and who will not. Some have the option of being able to leave, but not all have the strength to do what is required to survive. On Sept. 11, 2001, American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower at 8:46 a.m. and in the following 17 minutes, Melanie, Hong and Jan find that they are among the thousands of people suddenly confronted by confusion and uncertainty. While they search for answers, individuals such as construction manager Frank De Martini are fighting to rescue those trapped by tons of debris. Frank, supported by his colleagues Pablo and Mak, are pushing their way up into the wreckage of the dying building, rolling back the boundary between life and death.
Outside the North Tower, New York officials, supported by the Port Authority, are mobilizing the largest rescue operation in the city's history. Well over 1,000 emergency staff are being deployed, an organized evacuation has begun, and the critical decision that the fire cannot be fought has been made. Most of the North Tower’s elevators have stopped working and any firefighter attempting to reach the seat of the blaze will take more than an hour to climb up to the 91st floor. It is at this level that the three emergency stairwells have been severed by the direct force of the remnants of the aircraft. Rescuers will not be able to climb any farther – nor will anybody be able to descend from the higher floors. At least 1,300 people are trapped on the 19 floors above and immediately below the point of collision. Then the second tower is hit.
Stuck in elevators, confronted by dark and smoky exit routes, or hemmed in by burning wreckage, office workers in both towers were beyond the immediate help of the outside world. Individuals were forced to rely on their own resources in making the best of the options available to them. In buildings 110 stories tall, where fires burning at 1,300 degrees Centigrade were melting the steel floor supports, it was a perilous journey down to the ground. Not everybody would escape before the towers collapsed.

My God. All I can think about is the democrats. This is what they have distracted the administration from the last 5 years. Hopefully, these showings will bring folks back to reality and understand we are at war and MUST STAY THE COURSE. Watching this show is like being back there on that day..
Correct, it was not so much the columns fialing, but the floor decks/trusses that brace the perimeter tube failing. As overstressed columns began to have their lateral bracing destroyed(the floors braced the perimeter), the perimeter tube finally buckled and the building comes down.
Of course, that CAN'T be the explanation. It must have been a controlled demolition (sarcasm).

We HAVE forgotten. The footage of 9/11 should be played monthly to remind people what REALLY happened.
Instead, the Left and its accomplice the MSM have buried what REALLY happened so people can start to pick it to pieces politically.

One other memorable moment was when the 'reporter' asked the air traffic controllers how they were able to pull off the landing of so many planes, etc. Their reply, "We used our plans that were developed for Y2K".
It would have nice if Darryl Worley's "Have You Forgotten" could have been worked in the show somehow. Maybe it was. I haven't seen the show yet but will tomorrow. From what I;ve heard, it's a keeper.

A question for anyone who watched this - were there many commercials? I'm wondering if I should watch it now or tape it and watch it later so I can fast forward through the commercials.
I'm sure that many may call me sick, I do not care. On 9/11, and watching the events unfold as they did, and knowing that what we were seeing LIVE was history in the making as big as Dec. 7th, 1941 in Pearl harbor. In the immediate days that followed, I'd saved many videos from the TV to my hard drive.
From time to time since, I've watched them all, and each time I get the exact same feelings I had when I was watching it live, it's still not easy. Many say "Never Forget", sad to say many have, but I damn sure will not. Those saved videos help ensure that for me.
I know full well the enemy we are up against. Make no mistake about it, the same people (in mentality) who hijacked those planes to use as kamikazee missiles, have been terrorizing Israel with suicide belts for years.
I have no doubt in my mind that every moon-god loving follower of mohammad who would strapon an explosive belt, would chose a plane instead had El-Al not been as good at airline security as they are.
The cult called Islam truely is a plague of biblical proportions and IS positioning itself to destroy the west, me and you, and all we stand and don't stand for. Islam IS NOT a religion of peace, it is a religion of pieces, as in blown to, and for anyone, including those that call themselves muslim to insist that it is a religion of peace, needs to read the koran. Those that say that a minute few militant fundamentalists have hijacked a religion are also ignorant and naive.
Consider this, here in the US a vast majority call themselves Christian. But are they really? In the Arab world a vast majority call themselves muslim, but are they? A Christian should follow what the bible teaches them, as well as a muslim is supposed to follow what the koran says. If all Christians actually did try to live by the morals and principles taught in the bible, I have no doubt that the world we live in would be better for it. Now, if muslims did the same by following the koran, there'd be no one left with thier head attached who didn't convert.
A Christian would also follow the 10 commandments, one of which says "Thou shall not kill". True Christian or not, we do a pretty good job (not perfect) on keeping this one, whether out of fear of God or spending the rest of your days in prison, we certainly don't indiscrimanantly kill because they don't believe what they believe. A muslim on the other hand will. Oh, the koran also says not to kill, but it comes with a tagline, "Unless". That is unless a person converts/ submits to Allah.
Islam is the worlds largest religion, and growing. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude that as it grows and more start following the koran more closely, so to will the threat they pose.
Islam is a cancerous malignant tumor upon the world, and how do you get rid of cancer? You nuke it!!!
The cool thing is that my cable modem connection downloaded that clip in just over 10 minutes.
