Caesar was stabbed, in the end, by one of his closest and most loyal friends, Brutus. And George Bush was betrayed throughout the course of the entire Fitzgerald inquisition by his one time friend and close confidant, Colin Powell, who knew all along the involvement of Richard Armitage, and chose to keep quiet. Loyalty runs between many extremes.
...snip...
With Colin Powell, as with Mr. Armitage, loyalty has finally gone the way of the Model-T. And sadly, Mr. Powell's damage will be enshrined forever by the left in what appears to be their longest running hit piece of modern times. Et tu, Colin?

I have lost all respect for Colin Powell. What a POS he has become.
Colin!
I agree. I've lost most of my respect for the man.
Hi Howlin,
Colin Powell is a disgrace for letting this Plame event tarnish the President. If this had allowed Kerry to win, he would have been largely responsible.
He should apologize to Pres. Bush publicly.
---I'm losing any I had for Bush--he lets this stuff go on and on ---
I can't say I've lost my respect for colon powell, because I never had any. He and his stooge armitage should be arrested.
Yeah, sure, it's Bush's fault, right?
I anticipate next week when Tony is back in town, you will see a very strong message about all of this. It is time for the judges involved in this case to tell Fitzy to hang it up and go home (or to jail). Fitzy is the problem here having hid this information from the public. It is a travesty. Powell and Armitage will get their due and Libby will get his freedom.
Where is the quote that Powell knew who leaked the info? Does someone have a link where Powell knew who the leaker was? Thanks!!
Yeah
It's Bush's fault.
What were we thinking?
Blaming Powell and Armitage would be silly.
Sadly I never had any.
IMO He was a messenger boy for George's daddy, he carried messages back and forth between Schwarkoff and the President, he wasnt a planner or a big deal in the first Desert Storm, highly over rated, and in his job as secretary of state for George W. his heart was never in the game and he was way over his head.
He was black therefore he was an asset, he knew it and used it, but greatness simply wasnt in him nor, sadly it seems was, loyalty.
Time for a Colinoscopy.
Agreed, but he will never regain the respect of many, including myself, for not honoring his oath as an officer of our military and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

Will the DC Chapter be FReeping's Colin (and Alma's) mansion soon?? Just curious ... he sure deserves it, in spades! Please keep us posted, if so.
I never liked Powell anyway, so regaining my respect doesn't take much. I don't have much for the State Department in today's world either. between the UN and State, they are the cause of most of our problems...
these organizations give the enemy hope that we are all terminally stupid.
I lost my respect for him a long time ago when he said only the military and cops should have guns.
Can't argue against that.
This fiasco could work out to be a plus if it would trigger a complete purging and overhaul of State but there's no way that'll happen.
