When neither side has principles on their side, vote personality, at least the Gub has one.. albeit one that continues to distance him from the rest of the GOP
November ballot candidates.

Despite all this, as many as 85 percent of California Republicans tell pollsters they will vote for Schwarzenegger in November.
I must've been in the 15% when I told the RNC caller last month I would never vote for Arnold because he's a girlie-man on illegal immigration.

Arnold is the lesser of two evils.

I agree. That is why I'm voting for him. The lesser of two evils. The AP is full of it as usual.

REMINDER:
"California has 1.3 million more Democrats than Republicans. To win, Schwarzenegger needs to rally his Republican base, convert a few Democrats and win the majority of independents. "
OR we end up with Angelides.

Arnold is the lesser of two evils... but sporting full, liberal credentials non the less.
From my perspective the role of conservatives in California is not to support the Republican Party's appointed, gubernatorial candidate just to place a liberal into the highest office in the state.
Had the CAGOP followed party traditions and allowed registered Republicans to select their gubernatorial candidate in the June, the party wouldn't be wasting it dwindling resources and energy to control the internicene rebellion.
If the Republican's Austrian liberal is reelected governor in November the CAGOP gains a hollow victory, Californians are plunged further into the abyss of liberalism and many conservatives will have been actively undermined by their own party.
Vote in November. Vote conservative. Sweep both Heckel and Jeckel into the political ash heap.

Wrong. They found a few conservatives who embrace Schwarzenegger. That's not the same as "conservatives."

Ahnold is the slightly lessor two extreme evils.
And he is bringing Tom McClintock in with him (I hope).

NormsRevenge, a one trick pony. Anti-Arnold all the time.
I'm sorry you have to live in a state with such an awful governor. Perhaps you'd like to swap governors with us up here in Oregon. Ted Kulongoski is a real peach.

Arnold is the lesser of two evils. That ain't exactly a selling point in my book.
I mean, c'mon...would you rather aim high and court a beautiful woman with the possibility of striking out, or settle for a sure home run when your choices are limited (by some party schmuck) to Hillary Clinton and Helen Thomas?
Once you figure that one out, you'll understand why a lot of conservatives are burned out on taking this "lesser of two evils" bullcrap.

I nearly fell off my chair when I read this! The Left, including the MSM, seems to think we will sell out our core beliefs and loyalty in our party to any one... even someone who gives us the back of his hand. They must be on crack to write that conservatives embrace the Liberalinator! Good thing they haven't stopped by Free Republic to check the sentiment. With few exceptions, none of us thinks Arnold deserves to be re-elected in November.

Nearly every one on here seems to be in that 15%. The Drive By Media despise people who hold fast to their convictions. You'll get a lot of attention if you go along with the flow.

Would that be those life-long "conservative" Republicans typically profiled in the media? Uh huh. The Drive Bys wouldn't know a real conservative if he slapped them in the face.

And he is bringing Tom McClintock in with him (I hope).
Now Tom is one that I will vote for. He's running for lieutenant governor, which means, I think, that he won't really have an influence unless the one elected governor can no longer fulfill their duties.
To: NormsRevenge
The liberals have figured out how to win elective office in conservative times; they just run as 'conservatives.' It's taking them a little longer to move the country in the leftward direction they want it to go but they're doing it with conservative votes! (I.Q. test question: What's wrong with that picture?)

Time for that wonderful quote again.
"Presidents, regardless of party, face constant pressures from the Left -- from the Big Brother government, neofascist, high tax, property-confiscating liberals, from the econazis and global warmists, from the pro-abortionists, from those who are pro-one world and anti-American and from those who advocate cradle-to-grave socialism. (Have I left anyone out?) And, unless there are constant counter-pressures from those on the Right who believe in small government, low taxes, America first and individual liberty, presidents, under Left-wing pressure, tend to drift that way." --Lyn Nofziger
