Not as many voted for Kerry as those who were voting against President Bush. The nonstop attacks on President Bush since the campaign of 2000 have influenced some voters. The Democrats cannot tell people what they are for because they lose support, so their tactic is to get voters to vote against the president.

Haaa, Don't I wish. Besides paying the whole amount for the next Freeperthon, I could spend all my time here. God I love how Freeper keeps one's intellect supple and nimble. :-)

And to give credit. My partner at work is one very competent dude. Oddest thing, we both grew up in the same small Minnesota town. We are about 15 years apart in age so we never knew each other.

NO due to the "lousy" economy my company had to hire some new employees. Those new employees complained about some of the polices we Logistic employees were required to work under. Management ran it by HR and surprise, they were the polices imposed by a a former VP on us during the Clinton Recession and were NOT policies in line with over all Corp Holiday policy.

So one of the changes they were required to implement is that they have to rotate Holidays duties instead of requiring all the senior staff to work the day of the holiday. Since my holiday off turns out to be Labor Day this year, I have tomorrow off as a paid holiday. I used up my last a vacation day today so I could have a rare 5 day break from work.

So just a mundane day off and a good night's sleep. No magic oatmeal. :-) :-)

Santorum was very, very good. He is currently the best spokesman for the administrations WOIF's policy. By far.

Same with islam.

Curious. If Islam is the enemy why are the vast majority of the forces doing the bulk of the fighting, and by far the bulk of the dying, on OUR side in the War Muslim Iraqis, Pakistanis and Afghanis?

#540, too funny, you would be really dangerous if you knew how to Photoshop. Something tells me that the word pictures you put out there will do for the time being. I can see his plugs flying in the breeze now. LOL!

That comparison of the SS agents face to 'rare-drawings' of Tommy Smothers and President Tyler... WTF??! Sounds to me that Brians panties not only were in a bunch... but they were knotted and heading north. Williams personifies the PMSNBC moniker to a tee.

Post 573. I believe Altura or Pukin Dog was the original poster of most of the info in post 573. I merely hung on to it, and added a few things, to repost to those who continual spew the Bush hate propaganda. However, I am drawing a blank which was the original author of that beautiful list of accomplishments.

The democrats are try to separate national security from the ecconomy.

THE ECCONOMY IS 100% DEPENDENT ON NATIONAL SECURITY.

It is disgusting and just plain low that the democrats are calling the death a 3000 americans on 9/11 a mere statistical improbability. (iow: terror attacks are a mere oops)

"Judith Miller went to jail."

Indeed she did, even though Libby had already released her from protecting him as a source. She wasn't released until Fitzgerald promised to ask her only about Libby. Do you think that she might have been protecting someone other than Libby? Maybe Armitage?

If Libby is convicted after a competent criminal trial where he is allowed to present a defense then I would accept the accusations as proven. Until that time the statements in the indictment are merely accusations not facts. A plea bargain would not be considered an acceptable standard.

The Prosecutor has all the money and time in the world. He/She can simply drag everything out hoping to exhaust the ability of the Defense to defend themselves and force them to cop a plea.

#555, Gee you are doing all that building so you can pay all the extra taxes that Spitzer and the Liberals will sock you with. How many people and jobs will leave NY State once Spitzer is in office come January? They have been leaving for years even with Pataki in office. Just because you have the money does not mean others do. Do you mean to say that Hillary kept her promise to Central New Yorkers and got more jobs for the depressed area?

We also have significant strategic security and economic relationships with the Saudis. Are you proposing that no Saudis be allowed into the US to study?

WASHINGTON -- At a Capitol Hill hearing today, U.S. Senator Kit Bond expressed concern to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that Saudi Arabia continues to fund the spread of the hate-filled teachings of extremist Wahhabism within America's borders.

"The Saudi's are exporting anti-American, extremist teachings directly into our country," said Bond, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

.... The time to put a stop to this is now and if the Saudi's don't recognize the danger their actions pose to America, then America must reevaluate our relationship with the kingdom."
http://www.aina.org/news/20050217133223.htm

Freedom House’s Center for Religious Freedom has completed a year-long study of documents collected from more than a dozen Saudi-funded mosques in the United States—and the study confirms what many of us had long suspected: Saudi Publications on Hate Ideology Fill American Mosques. (Hat tip: TexasSecurityMom.)

Among the key findings of the report:

* Various Saudi government publications gathered for this study, most of which are in Arabic, assert that it is a religious obligation for Muslims to hate Christians and Jews and warn against imitating, befriending, or helping them in any way, or taking part in their festivities and celebrations;

* The documents promote contempt for the United States because it is ruled by legislated civil law rather than by totalitarian Wahhabi-style Islamic law. They condemn democracy as un-Islamic;

As to letting in Saudi students in and our valued strategic relationship with this 'non-state supporter of terrorism'; I know we are trying to be nuanced, but have we seen any progress? Has anybody in the State Department acknowledged the risk of allowing thousands of people from a state that, in the main, hates us and that appropriate measures have been taken? The Federalist Papers clearly allude to the history that Republics fail because of foreign influence.

Russert did a superb job too. I am more saddened now that Santorum is going to go down to defeat, than I was before watching the debate

Amazing you can foretell the future! What are you doing wasting time HERE? Think of the fortune you could be making on the stock market! Heck if you need seed money just go make some on line bets or head to the race track! Then there is the casino. Amazing how well you can do since you all ready KNOW what the results to the blackjack table or roulette wheel will be!

"I THINK I read somewhere on FR that it was Nicholas Burns that issued the VISA for Khatami"

well I went looking ...... and you are correct!!!
Out of the link below --- there was just one (1) postive remark regarding this Visa/visit. James S. Robbins - I know nothing about him.

But I must admit, his opinion was mine when I first heard of the visit. Letting Iran expose, in Khatami's words, Iran's world goals to the American people was not a bad move.

Out of the question for President Bush to 'debate' with Ahmadinejad as Ahmadinejad requested.

It just might wake up America!!!

That was my reaction regarding this visit!! And maybe my reaction was still remembering that Christiane Amanpour and bill clinton, in 1999/2000, had cooked up a trip to Iran to talk with the Iranians and Khatami, which was cancelled, I imagine because it took courage. Which bill clinton does not have. A trip at that time may have kept Ahmadinejad from an 'election'. There are good people in Iran.

U.S.-Iran policy, spearheaded by Nicholas Burns and Secretary of State Rice, is a train to nowheresville, literally.

Pooya Dayanim
The issuance of a United States visa to Mohammad Khatami, the former president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is an insult to the American people, a slap in the face of Iran’s pro-democracy movement, a mockery of the immigration and antiterrorism laws, and a continuation of the schizophrenic non-policy of the State Department. To see him here, in both New York and Washington, D.C., cities attacked five years ago, will be heartbreaking.

Michael Ledeen
Giving Khatami prestigious platforms all over America is a dumb move, and it will enormously discourage the Iranian people. For those who believed Bush is serious about regime change, this is a numbing blow. Would FDR have given Goebbels a visa while the Reich was attacking Czechoslovakia?

James S. Robbins
It would be a brilliant move if President Bush or one of his chief foreign-affairs officials took the opportunity to really challenge Khatami in a public setting, something along the lines of the 1959 Nixon-Khruschev “kitchen debate” but better managed. And the emphasis should not be on the nuclear issue alone, but also, even primarily, on the aspirations of the Iranian people to be free, and the fear of the regime to allow the Iranians to experience true political freedom. Take Khatami on a tour of the Washington Post and ask him why the regime is shutting down independent media in Iran, that kind of thing. Put him on the spot in a dramatic way. But I fear if there is any criticism of Iran offered it will be limited to the technicalities of the nuclear issue, and presented in the same old stilted fashion. So the Iranian people will think we don’t care about their liberties, and the regime will know it for sure.
