#487, because to quote a South Florida Talk show Maven( who is Jewish)Steve Kane, they are self hating Jews. Then to quote other Jewish former Talk Show Mavens in South Florida Rick Seiderman and Matt Trager, they do not know who their enemies are, they think that Jerry Falwell is their enemy. They all used to get together with Al Rantel (who moved on to KABC in LA),and discuss this phenomenon on a regular basis. I wish I could remember all the Quotes verbatim, they were priceless.

Russert did a superb job too. I am more saddened now that Santorum is going to go down to defeat, than I was before watching the debate
Thank you for providing your usual DNC Political spin. Did not realize you Democrat Activists worked Sundays too.

Armitage and Powell letting the administration "twist in the wind" during the investigation and still remaining quiet now. Armitage and Powell are political appointees. I don't consider that to be damning of the institution of the State Department and its career employees. Bush needed to do a better job of appointments.

Believe me, I do not look at this as a debate. I get no special thrill of seeing folks agree with me. This is the way it is. Nothing more. The very existence of civilization as we know it and as we wish it to be is what hangs in the balance.
I have no children. I'm in my early 60's. I live in an area of the country that is target poor for terrorists. Basically, aside from my love of my country, I have no dog in this fight. This WOT, not just the battle that is Iraq, will be going on long after I pass. The less ruthlessly that we fight it, the longer it will be.

I was going to include my following comments on my original #337 reply of this thread about Casey's performance this morning but deleted them becuase I thought they maybe a bit too esoteric.
Casey's performance this morning reminded me of an old 60's Bewitched episode(Dick York being Darren), where Tabitha zaps Prince Charming out of one of her books. Darren's female cousin who is visting the Stephen's house and is in fear of becoming an old maid instantly falls in love when meeting Prince Charming(i.e Samantha can't tell Tabitha to zap him back into the book for fear that Darren's cousin will suspect something).
So an excuse is made that Prince Charming is one of Samantha's cousins and they go on with a martini laden dinner party with Darren's boss(which seemed to happen nightly in the 60's), the Tate's. Well the females and Larry Tate swoon over Prince Charming(Larry looking to put Prince Charming in a detergent commercial), but Larry Tate's wife, Louise, finally comes up to the realization that he looks good, but doesn't say anything and everything goes downhill for Prince Charming from there and he is finally zapped back into the book, never to heard from again.
JMO, that is what the DNC is in for, they zapped Bob Casey Jr. out of their playbook and when people realize he isn't saying anything, there will be questions.

A number of old wise PA Freepers told me about 8 months ago that Casey would lead in the polls right up to the point he had to open his mouth< Well, I don't live in PA anymore, but I kept saying that.
Ah thank you for reminding me. I was drawing a blank about who told me this. Am certainly glad to assign the credit where credit is most certainly due.

#489, you are both right in a way. They cannot make you keep your mouth shut, but let's be honest if you disobey their orders, they can make it very hard for you using their Power, especially if you are ever in a situation where you or a family member must face them in Court, and they use their discretion or not. Like a Police Officer that you beat for a ticket in Court and you laugh about it,later on you still have to drive your vehicle and he will be waiting. Most any Police Officer can follow someone only about two or three blocks before they make some kind of a traffic violation that would get them a ticket. It is all about discretion.

I am not accusing State of being a monolith and stated that up front.
Maybe if we try this a different way, we might not be that far apart. In your first post, you'd indicated that the feeling at State was being treated as Lilliputians. Was that because staffers were treated badly by political appointees, or maybe not badly, but their advice was being ignored?

Back in those days I was pounding away at NewsMax Forum along with Aloha Ronnie. I think there are some other FReepers here who were there as well. In that life, and I must stress this for some old timer FReepeers ON THE NEWS MAX FORUM I was known as John Galt. Evidently there was a FReeper by the same name a while back and he caused many problems and was banned. It wasn't me!!!!!

Democrats play the politics of personal destruction game on every issue. They cannot debate the issue so the attack the person. Republicans tend to debate the issue. Allbright was a buffoon, but we would challenge her positions and actions as Secretary of State, not the garish pins she wore or how she waddled in front of the camera. Same with Clinton, the criticisms centered around his behavior as president, not his personal rights to engage in them as an individual.
This is what amazed me when Democrats were talking about the party of corruption. They must have been thinking they could insulate themselves by charging Republicans as being corrupt. Especially since the list of corrupt officials in the Democrat party is longer with worse behavior.

I sure wish Mark Levin could get ahold of the Jewish community in Florida...he could tell them how foolish it is for them to be "self hating Jews"...unless that means they hate their children...and the children of Israel.

Great words. I just heard Britt Hume neatly sum up the rats and their strategy "all they say basically amounts to retreat". And he is right.
Sadly, I did not hear any of the panel admit that we are in a long WOT and this will not end any time soon.
US citizens are trained by the msm to expect everything to begin and end in 16 weeks and no longer unless it's a very good sitcom. And I use the word sitcom because to many on the left this WOT is nothing more than an occasional mention on tv.to them it's not real.
The Iraqi war is just that a war. It's not pretty, it has no rules and we have been phenomenally successful in killing the enemy instead of them killing us! 2,700 deaths are a lot but when you think about prior wars they are a mere drop in the bucket our soldiers have done a magnificent job and keep doing so.
The least we can do is support their efforts and not keep advocating this cut and run strategy of the dem/rats.

I think it's more like the Liberals want Republicans to be dispirited and stay homeI completely agree. They are making these statements in the hope of actually creating what they are saying.
