Yes, Los Angeles is a nutty place. Where else would you get Jack Bauer patrolling LAX on the strength of a power outage, while everyone else in the terminal deals with the "emergency" by screaming for a double latte with extra chocolate shavings...

They are in the process of trying to find somebody who knows how to put the plug back in.

Are you telling me that LAX does not have backup generators to keep the system running, in case the main power supply fails? Hard to believe, than again it is a slow and uneventful Saturday....!"

Why?

1) Maybe because LAX is the world's fifth busiest airport World's Busiest Airports by Passengers or

2) Maybe because Los Angeles County has a population of 9 million people, with a lot of conservative Freepers who live in Los Angeles or who have family members here; or

3) Perhaps because LAX was a terrorist target prior to September 11, 2001.

Thanks for the info, Pro-Bush. Fifth glitch incident in a little over a month is a bit high, I would think.

Hopefully no flights will be affected.

Thanks bd476 for the update.
If you find the cause of the power outage;
do you mind noting it here?

Thanks.

The events early this year I remember two were the back-up generators for the radar. The radar seems fine tonight I been watching land and takeoff at the site I posted earlier.
