Call me a doomsayer

How about Chicken Little?

but if things don't take a dramatic turn in our favor shortly, we'll be looking at two years of Democratic rule. The tax cuts seem to be having no discernable effect on the average family,

That's a lie as demonstrated by the economy.

the news from overseas is pretty gloomy as portrayed by the major news outlets,

The media lies...I shouldn't have to say it.

and the recent in-fighting amongst Republicans bodes poorly for the upcoming mid-terms.

The rats are in worse turmoil. The media doesn't report this.

There is no chance we could lose the House because the seats are gerrymandered. The rats have more seats to defend in the Senate...18 rats to 15 GOP seats. The RNC and the GOP campaign committees have substantial money advantages and the power of the MSM continues to diminish in the age of the new media. We will hold both houses and I expect us to add seats. And it will be 100% Bush's fault.

In so far as the overall Senate shapes up, seems as if chances for a Rat takeover there are slim and none. As you say, they have 18 seats to defend vs. 15. But even the most optimistic (for them) Rat talk has five GOP seats changing hands - DeWine in OH, Chafee in RI, Talent in MO, Burns in MT, Santorum in PA - while they hold on to all theirs. And even if all these dominoes fell their way, that would still make it 50-50 and they'd still need to find another jumper like Jim Jeffords a few years back in order to get a 51st seat. Unlikely!

BTW, largely unreported in the MSM, there's a decent chance for the GOP to win a Dem seat in NJ.
