It's reprehensible to characterize Soros's experience as a 14 year old Jewish boy hiding his identity during the Holocaust as "part of the machinery in Hungary for ferreting out hidden Jews during WWII."

This is the first time I've seen your allegation about Soros. Can you point us to anything in writing (besides your own post) to suggest that Soros aided the Nazis in WWII? I think that if this were true (or if anyone credible said it -- ever before) we would have heard about it before, but I would be happy to learn something new.

This idiot simply has no concept of what a "free fire zone" is. If Southern Lebanon were being treated as a "free fire zone," there wouldn't be anyone left alive there, and far fewer Israeli soldiers would have been killed. Frankly, it was a shame that Israel didn't treat it as such.

Thank you for the link, which contained information that was new to me.

I loathe Soros, and I have done so for several years. However, I have more sympathy for him than anger/disgust based on his behavior as a 14-year-old in Hungary.

In my opinion, it must have been quite scarring for Soros, as a 14-year-old Jew, to hide his identity and tag along with a top Nazi as he confiscated Jewish estates in Hungary. I see this as qualitatively different from being a Kapo in a concentration camp, for example, or initiating the land confiscations. It's true that many Jews became members of the resistance, as Horowitz writes, but I can't condemn Soros for not having done the same. I simply cannot put myself in his shoes.
