Although that's a good thing (Vermont's sane gun laws) would not consider that the overriding factor for anyone reading my post considering moving there for that reason--at least not good Conservative, Freepers.
Of course, one of the main reasons Vermont has become so "left-leaning" over the past 25-30 years, is thanks to all the " liberal flat landers" who moved there from Ma., Ct., N.Y. and N.J. including, Bernie Sanders.
Don't take the "flatlander" moniker personally, as I lived in South Jersey (Mt. Laurel, Mt. Holly and Willingboro) for 15 years after I got out of AF and loved it. Of course, that was a long time ago and left N.J. in 1985.
How did they interrupt the attack?

PA has Shall Issue just like Florida. Those poor people had the same ability to get a Concealed Carry License as any of the other Carry States.
I would suggest every Freeper join the NRA, get a Concealed Carry License, get a gun and know how to use it.
The International Defensive Pistol Association run shooting matches just about every month. It's like a Concealed Carry class for novices and experts. Check it out.
It sucks for me. I live in Florida where it is easy to get a CCW but I'm in the Navy and 99% of my driving is to and from the Navy base where concealed weapons are forbidden.

I could get a CCW but what good would it do for me as I can't carry a weapon to the one place I generally travel.
Incidentally, I'm an ordnanceman. When I go to work I often handle M240s and .50 cals.

4. The Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban, both of which went into effect in 1994 are responsible for the decrease in violent crime rates, which have been declining since 1991.
5. We must get rid of guns because a deranged lunatic may go on a shooting spree at any time and anyone who would own a gun out of fear of such a lunatic is paranoid.

30. The ACLU is good because it uncompromisingly defends certain parts of the Constitution, and the NRA is bad, because it defends other parts of the Constitution.
31. Charlton Heston, a movie actor as president of the NRA is a cheap lunatic who should be ignored, but Michael Douglas, a movie actor as a representative of Handgun Control, Inc. is an ambassador for peace who is entitled to an audience at the UN arms control summit.
32. Police operate with backup within groups, which is why they need larger capacity pistol magazines than do "civilians" who must face criminals alone and therefore need less ammunition.
33. We should ban "Saturday Night Specials" and other inexpensive guns because it's not fair that poor people have access to guns too.
34. Private citizens don't need a gun for self-protection because the police are there to protect them even though the Supreme Court says the police are not responsible for their protection.
35. Citizens don't need to carry a gun for personal protection but police chiefs, who are desk-bound administrators who work in a building filled with cops, need a gun.
36. "Assault weapons" have no purpose other than to kill large numbers of people. The police need assault weapons. You do not.
37. Trigger locks do not interfere with the ability to use a gun for defensive purposes, which is why you see police officers with one on their duty weapon.
38. Handgun Control, Inc. says they want to "keep guns out of the wrong hands." Guess what? You have the wrong hands.
My time in the Navy was no big deal. He//, it kept me out of the Army! :) In those days everyone had to serve. That's why old timers often say, "I did my time in the ____" That's just what it was like, doin' time. }:^)

4. The left knows that is only a matter of time before citizen owned firearms are turned upon the left. But being the left they continue to behave in a way that guarantees that outcome.
Most patriotic citizens that are normally law-abiding would not obey a law that banned guns. In fact banning guns nationwide would most probably cause a revolution...as it should.

I later learned that this was the result of people tossing unwanted pets into the woods.
Apparently this problem has existed for many years. Over 20 years ago I read a book called The Tracker. The author describes how he escaped on foot from a pack of feral dogs in the Pine Barrens. This book was originally published in 1978.
Thanks. Another member also informed me of this fact. My comment was really directed to those parts of the country where Shall Issue does not exist. I should also have said that where Shall Issue does exist, people should engage in the practice of carrying.
