"Partners in Terror"
By Simon A. Waldman
FrontPageMagazine.com | September 12, 2006
Snip: There is a significant amount of intelligence and open-source documentation suggesting that al-Qaeda has obtained and is in possession of nuclear weapons. There is, unfortunately, no way to know for certain the status of these weapons. Have they been destroyed? Do the terrorists lack the expertise to use them? Are the weapons simply old and useless, or are they being kept hidden somewhere for later use? These are the questions the intelligence community needs to be asking, and should have been asking over the last few years.
There is much speculation over the reasons security and intelligence agencies are going to such great lengths to guard against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear terrorism. One of the most recent ones today is that President Bush and Tony Blair were personally advised that al-Qaeda had obtained nuclear weapons through their contact with former KGB agents. Reportedly, during the last week of October 2001, CIA director George Tenet met with the president to discuss fresh intelligence about the nuclear threat. It is said that Bush was startled by the discussion and immediately proceeded to make preparation for nuclear terrorism a top priority despite its expenses. Perhaps this is the meeting that Paul L. Williams refers to in his new book when he says our leadership was informed of the terrorists' nuclear capabilities and "went through the roof."
Snip: To destroy and cripple several dozen people, a sum as small as $150 may be enough. The price of the "martyr's belt" does not exceed 80 dollars. Americans believe that September 11 cost terrorists approximately $500,000. The economic damage of the attack was $135,000,000,000. These numbers exist with which to compare. The most destructive hurricane in the history of USA, Andrew in 1992, resulted in $21 billion worth of damages.
Shutting down Muslim charities
Snip: In Toledo, Ohio, the FBI planted an informant in the Muslim charity KindHearts three years ago. This spring, the government shut down the charity and froze its $1 million assets, accusing the organization of financially supporting Hamas, which the Bush administration considers to be a terrorist group. At the same time, the government arrested three men in Toledo on suspicion of terrorism. The connection to KindHearts? Some invoices and a change purse with the KindHearts logo were found at one of the mens homes, according to government officials.
In Virginia, FAITH isnt the only one under attack. Wachovia has apparently closed accounts held by five Muslim organizations in Virginia. Earlier this year, the Washington Post reported that FAITH may have come under scrutiny because it received a large donation from a Muslim businessman whose home and accounts were raided by the government in 2002.
Radical Islamic group advocates execution for Islamic defectors
A radical Islamic group which advocates execution for Islamic defectors is still operating legally in Britain - at least for the moment.
Yet another Islamic terror group
Snip: The number of terrorist groups that identify themselves as serving Allah is quite amazing, especially when reviewing the number of terror groups associated with the other major world religions. It's been several hundred years, for example, since Christianity engaged in conversion by the sword and used torture and mutilation as a means of ensuring religious conformity. It seems that the success or failure of the war on terror is deeply entwined with the fate of Islam itself and the conflicts between modern Muslims and traditionalist Muslims.
The Washington Post reports today on yet another Islamic terror group, known as Jund Al-Sham, operating in Syria.
Thanks, Kyla.
I wonder if there are cameras at the bus terminal?

He looks a lot like many people to the south of the U.S. border as well. If living in the SW U.S., it would be pretty hard to pick him out of a crowd.
Thank you nw.
Indeed.
Now that you mention it, it may have been one of those .ir sites you saw it in or one of the more interesting ME "news" sites.

Ship with N. Korean weapons seized enroute to Syria
NICOSIA -- The Republic of Cyprus has stopped a ship full of North Korean
weapons systems bound for Syria.
Officials said Greek Cypriot authorities responded to an alert by Interpol
to capture a ship bound for Syria from North Korea. They said security
agents found a mobile air defense system and components of a missile launcher......
You may be right.
I've giving up searching for the photo.
Perhaps one day, I'll run across it again.
Yep, when I was updating Syria, I ran across a lot of interesting things.
and...
THANK YOU Greek Cyrpiot authorities.
We appreciate your alertness and the
timely attention to this matter.

He sure could blend in as a Latino. God, protect us from him and his brothers and sisters and evil.
FYI .. I'd signed up months ago with Yahoo alerts for him.. so you can do that with any of the names/subjects that interest you amongst this nest of beasts. The traffic in articles about him has definitely picked up in the last few weeks.
