August 31, 2006 Wal-Mart asks for, and receives, permission to join homosexual marriage group.
Wal-Mart comes out of the closet
Dear Reader,
Wal-Mart, the largest retailer in the world, has asked for and received permission to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. The NGLCC is a leading promoter of homosexual marriage.
Read "Wal-Mart Partners With Gay and Lesbian Group" here: http://www.afa.net/walmartadage.htm
Although Wal-Mart has never excluded homosexuals from being employees, customers, or suppliers, the company wanted to be more closely identified with promoting the homosexual agenda. Wal-Mart is now a "corporate member" of the NGLCC, putting their approval on the NGLCC's efforts to abolish the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. A Wal-Mart vice president will serve as an advisor to the NGLCC, helping them promote homosexual marriage.
Wal-Mart agreed to give $25,000 to the NGLCC and to pay for two conferences scheduled by NGLCC. Also, Wal-Mart will give homosexual-owned businesses special treatment when making purchases. Companies not owned by homosexuals will be moved down the list.
NGLCC called Wal-Mart's action "part of the company's ongoing commitment to advancing diversity (homosexuality) among all of its associate, supplier and customer bases."
Wal-Mart is offering the same kind of support for homosexual marriage which Ford Motor Company has been giving to homosexual groups for years.
Take Action 1. Send your email to Wal-Mart.
2. Wal-Mart often blocks our emails. To make sure your voice is heard, please call Wal-Mart's home office headquarters and ask for Chairman Rob Walton at 479-273-4000. Also, call your local Wal-Mart manager and express your concerns. Please, be polite when you call!
3. Print out and distribute our specially produced Pass Along Sheet: http://www.afa.net/wmpassalong.asp

Thank you for caring enough to get involved. Sincerely,
Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman American Family Association
P.S. Please forward this e-mail message to your family and friends!
My thoughts exactly. "4Q WalMart" indeed. I like that.
Poetic.
"I'm skeptical about this alleged special treatment."
Because there isn't any. If any of these people would go to the NGLCC site and see what other companies give them money, the intellectual shrimps might not be so quick to call for a boycott, which nobody with half a brain or shred of individulaism would follow anyway.
On the flipside of that, go to Wal-Mart's site and see the MANY great organization they also give money to. Far too many people on this site are willing to cut off their noses to spite their faces.
I will go to a place that has the Salvation Army instead of a place that doesn't. The Salvation Army has helped a lot of people and is a good solid old charity. The times I have walked by one and dind't put money in the bucket, the bell ringer is just as nice and friendly as the times I do put money in. People who are put off by the Salvation Army outside a business, have a personal problem and a guilty conscience maybe. They do MUCH good and no harm.
Thanks. I looked but didn't find a thread on it. I'm glad someone else did. This needs to get out there. Sam Walton's sons have repeatedly shown they don't share his values, and this is the latest example. Sam Walton's values are those of most Americans and his stupid sons need to get a clue about that.
Maybe this comment was posted before as well. Sounds like the Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce had Jesse jackson as their founder & guru. First thing that popped into my head when I perused post.
I bought a box of .45 shells and a box of .32 at Walmart last weekend, and the cashier charged me for two boxes of .45. I didn't notice it until I got home and I didn't want to go back: Saturday, know what I mean?
So I went back Wednesday after work, drove across town, and told the gal behind the customer service desk what happened. No questions, she refunded ten bucks and change. My only gripe with them is that they don't sell firearms anymore.
Wal-mart is faaabulous, dahling!
Gay values didn't make this country possible. Strong Christians who opposed the gay lifestyle created this country and their Christian values are the ONLY reason their efforts succeeded. That's a fact. The traditional values of the founders are under direct attack by the NGLCC, which WalMart just joined, and in doing so, giving discounts to gays that no one else can get. If you have no problem with that, then you're in a very small minority.
Well, group discounts to gay organizations is pretty straight forward. Those organizations, like others, have cards and other forms of ID that show what they belong to, and there are discount sections on file at registers for different affiliates. And the American Family Association has a very good reputation and they are meticulous in their reporting of these things. If you have some evidence to the contrary I'd like to see it. :)
And by EXACTLY THE SAME reasoning, if people who disapprove organize like minded people to not shop there anymore and get out the word to other people who feel the same way so that they are all together on that - It really isn't anyone who disagrees with the boy-cotters business. In the United States Constitution, both groups are granted freedom of association.
"Gay individuals getting discounts that straight individuals don't? Gay married couples getting special discounts tht straight couples don't?"
I don't know what on earth you are talking about. WHAT DISCOUNTS THAT ONLY GAY COUPLES GET? WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE FOR THIS HYPERBOLIC STATEMENT?
Any conservatives who continue to shop at WalMart when they don't have to, even after being told about this, I have no problem saying quite frankly, that they are not a real conservative. You either believe something, or not. It's that simple. Any someone who believes in something they won't stand up for and defend, well, they're worthless when it comes to protecting this country.
What you said is EXACTLY the right way people should respond. You're going to tell them you're unhappy about this, tell them you won't shop there, and then won't shop there unless you absolutely have to for something you can't get elsewhere. THAT is how to get their attention! :) Good for you.
Boycotts do work. The people who say boycotts don't work are the liberals who support the issues that conservatives boycott. If boycotts didn't work, liberals wouldn't get so bent out of shape about them, they'd just laugh at conservatives and not care. But they know better. They know they work.
But I only said I was put off because I had to stand about 15 feet from that bell for an 8-hour shift. YOU try it. Chinese water torture.
A sense of humor about something serious that's a cancer on the American system of values? No, not so much. No.
Target has comparable policies as to same-sex partners, according to Target and this decidedly pro-gay website:
http://www.hrc.org/Template.cfm?Section=Search_the_Database&Template=/CustomSource/WorkNet/srch_dtl.cfm&srchtype=QS&searchid=1&orgid=1153
Target even pays full medical for employees who undergo transgender procedures.
I don't have much of a dog in this fight; my only point was that IF one dislikes Wal-Mart's new policy, then shopping at Target is hardly the response one would expect.
In that case, right on. Didn't notice your tagline before, totally missed that. :) Thanks.
REALLY??? Good grief. I hadn't heard that before but it doesn't surprise me. Thick as theives they are it seems like. It's sure appropriate if a flaming radical immoral lib like Jessie Jackson founded that.
I hate to admit it, but the truth is that I shop where the workers are likeable by my standards. I may be fine with a very obviously gay guy at Pier One, and may not be fine with that same person as my waiter.
I don't think about company policies that don't effect me. And that's probably not a good thing. I know most of the Walmart people by their first names. Not so, Target.
Why do gays need their own Chamber of Commerce? Are they ineligible to join the regular C of C?
Liberals and leftists tell us how inclusive they are and and how our time-honored institutions are heterosexist. Does it not follow that a gay chamber of commerce homosexist? Why is homosexism desirable if "heterosexism" is deplorable?
Here here! Spot on right.
