I was suggesting on another thread (in response to calls for the charges against Libby to be dropped) - maybe we want the Libby trial now, in light of these revelations. the testimony at Libby's trial might get interesting. yes, its tough on him personally - but I have to figure the defense fund is going to swell after this.

my guess is, if we do see Fitzgerald drop the charges, its because the "cabal" here will get a message through Fitzgerald's handlers and tell him that they don't want to risk being dragged into court, and its better to drop it. Fitz will of course claim he is dropping the charges to sustain the "rule of law" or some other platitude, which will be nonsense of course.

You know what, you have a great point!

Let Scooter go to trial; put everybody under oath! Let's get to the REAL bottom of this.

What does he have to lose?

And for myself, there's nothing that would make me happier than to see that fat bastard Russert and the jerk Matthews under oath.

I'm with you. Seems there are too many here who have him convicted, in need of a pardon. Libby deserves to face his accusters.

If Fitz drops this, Libby should file a civil action. I think Fitz would be immune, unless there was malfeasance & that would be difficult to prove. Some members of the press, not to mention the initial instigator (Wilson) have left themselves wide open... book deal indeed.

Why would you conclude this? When FItzgerald questioned Libby he already knew who had committed the 'exposure' of Plame, yet he set trap after trap after trap. He has no sense of right and wrong. He desired that the law be his excuse to evil persecutions. This trial is an Outrage.
