Hmm... Tile Doctor??? A mop? LOL!

Most of the rooms that are getting steamed have already been painted...

I can't wait to get everything back to where it belongs.

Now there is a warning for the East Branch of the Perkiomen at Schenksville. This is probably runoff coming from Bucks County - there has been a lot of rain over there.

Last night when we went to bed, it looked like everything had passed... We were wrong.. All hell broke loose around 3 AM... No trees down here, we were just out of power for about 12 hours. I hope it doesn't come back. But, if it does, we have generators now.

As I was attempting to respond to brothers4thID last night - my other phone line went out.

Either things here have dried out enough, or Verizon got sick and tired of listening to us.............I am sure it is the former and not the latter.

Now I'm going to play cath-up..........

Glad you are back online!

Lots of limbs (and quite a few big trees too) down here, puddles the size of lakes, but we dodged a bullet this time personally. And my phone line (which is still lying aboveground) is working. It was so strange driving in the causeway - no marsh on either side; just bay.

I did see an O'Malley sign on Rt 13 in Princess Anne, but that was the only one. Looks like it was just put up today.

Glad you dodged the bullet.......over here things are pretty rough in some places........most of Parksley is still without power, or at least it was as of about 6.....and they have no phones either. A huge tree came down a mile or so down the road form me, but doesn't seem to havedone too much damage to the house.

My gardens are toast, very soggy toast..........I hope the water has receded enough that I can check on my berries tomorrow.

We just got our power back (fingers crossed) after 39 hours. Not much damage at the house, except we lost a crepe myrtle. Out this morning with the chain saw taking it down.

Haven't read all the postings yet, but we (the region) got hit with mainly flooding. Approx. 10" dropped in Va Beach and Norfolk according to the weather service, and wide-spread power outages. Lots of apartment complexes evacuated due to high water and collapsing storm drains. Frankly, the infrastructure around here could use a lot of overhaul (both power and sewer).

Could have been worse, could have been an hurricane instead of a tropical storm. I hope the politicians learn from this tropical storm and put some serious thought into preparing for a real storm.

Nahh.... [/sarcasm]

Glad you got your power back.........as to the infrastructure.........the Eastern Shore basically has NONE. So 9 inches of rain takes it's toll on folks. That was the last I saw recorded before I lost my last phone line last night.

Doh! Sorry for inadvertantly cursing you.
Our power went out in the middle of the night and *of course* my toddler woke up screaming about his room being dark. I finally found a working flashlight and let him sleep with that.

Sorry about your power.........I can totally relate to the problem with the yung'un. My 8 year old went into meltdown mode when the power went out Friday and my husband had gone to the store...........and that was in the middle of the afternoon.

There ae still pockets throughout the county without power and/or telephone. And there is still a tremendous amount of standing water.
