" ... but rather more likely seeing an increase in fatalities in domestic violence as mostly men obtain guns."

OK, I quit reading right there. More BS. Perpetuate the myths; try to raise fears; highlight the specter of violence.

How about some stats on the involvement of these firearms in crimes? oh. don't have 'em?

Where's the Ranting Moron Barf Alert on the header of this story?

Just out of curiosity -- what have the crime statistics in that area been doing? Going up? Down?

When citizens start carrying guns, crime drops. Simple recorded fact.

Oh, its Suffolk in the UK...I was worried that only 9000 guns had been registered in all of Suffolk County, NY (the half of Long Island furthest from NYC) since 2001. Of course, the very idea of registration is sick, and I was also concerned that maybe it was now the law to register long guns there...phew!

A spokesman for IANSA said: “It's totally possible every single rifle has been carefully justified. But guns can end up being used illegally. Our concern is not that they are going to be used in gun grime in the sense of muggings in the street, but rather more likely seeing an increase in fatalities in domestic violence as mostly men obtain guns.

There go the libs again. Imitating Miss Cleo.

When they do not have facts to back up their claims, they go into the prediction business. And their batting average when it comes to predictions is very poor.

More guns= less crime. Anti-gun people are contemplating a life of crime. IMHO

Maybe it's a slow news day.

Maybe being involved in WW111 doesnt "float yer boat".

But what the dog did today in Suffolk is about as interesting as watching paint dry.

What possible relevance to anything is this posting?

Our concern is not that they are going to be used in gun grime in the sense of muggings in the street, but rather more likely seeing an increase in fatalities in domestic violence as mostly men obtain guns.

So the militant feminists are now being more open about their rationale for being among the antigun hysterics.

I have a great sympathy for our British Friends who are forced to live in this environment.  Whenever friends visit from the UK or Germany, they are always delighted to see my extensive firearms collection and they always tell me that one of the highlights of their trip to America is the opportunity to go shooting with me.  They understand that the presence of numerous guns in my home doesn't cause me to run out and start carjacking people and holding up banks and randomly murdering people.  Those responsible for implementing these draconian laws in the UK and Europe need to get out more.

Firearms and shotguns are not only used in agriculture but also in pursuit of country sports and by members of target shooting clubs. These sports appear to be becoming increasingly popular

Of course, it has nothing to do with protecting oneself and family from the Jihad going on in their backyard.

You are, of course, correct.

However, they're dealing in feeeeeeeelings

He also said lessons could be learnt from the Canadian government which had made it a requirement for police to contact the partners or former partners of gun owners to provide a reference.

“It does flag up the possibility the person is not suitable to own a gun,” he said.

So, if you fall in love with a supposedly honorable woman and marry her in good faith, and it turns out that in reality she is completely untrustworthy and misrepresented herself in every way prior to your marriage, and what you had hoped to be a happy lifelong union ends in sadness and pain, then this person can also harm you after the divorce by preventing you from legally owning a firearm.

More reasons not to visit Canada.

At one gun a month, a purchase timetable favored by liberals, the number of firearms being purchased is falling behind schedule.

I stopped reading at the first sentence. When the tyrants complain about "the number of legally owned guns" I can't take it anymore. This is the next step here in the US. INCREMENTALISM!!!!!

"Anyone who has a firearm or shotgun is carefully vetted by the police and has to give good reason to possess each and every firearm and satisfy stringent safe keeping requirements before a licence is issued.”

A funny thing, I just looked, and I failed to find the above phrase in the Constitution. Has the 2nd ammendment been changed? If so, why weren't we informed?
