West Boca · Thousands of Brazilians settled in northern Broward County in the last decade. Their businesses and churches subtly changed the character of Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach.
Now a Brazilian spillover is transforming a neighborhood west of Boca Raton.
Brazilian flags and storefront windows adorned in green, yellow and blue -- the colors of the national flag -- are everywhere on a two-block stretch on U.S. 441 between Marina Boulevard and Oriole Country Road.

I've been to Brasil several times, I just love it. Living there is different however, when put in perspective, there simply isn't a better place to live than the United States.
When I got married and the children came, it pretty much killed any illusions I had of living down there. We're quite comfortable here in Boca Raton.
My wife, using all her powers of pursuasion (noteably: breathing) convinced me I'd have more fun here anyways.
So now, after committing to family and saying goodbye to Brasil, Brasil has come to me. : )
Anyways, we now have loads of restaurants and a couple of Padarias, one right next to our area. I'm stopping there per normal today to bring some "Pao De Queijo" to work and chat with the folks there. Haven't been to the "Supermercado", but some new friends in my son's Boy Scout troop are Brasileiras and they've told me it's pretty good.
So it's all good. That feeling of "saudade" or longing hits me now and again. Someday I'll bring my esposita down there and we'll cruise Copacabana or say "Oi!" to Cristo Redentor on top of Corcovado.
For now, I'll lay content in my "West Boca Favela" and wear my sappy smile as Brasil pops up around me.
Good. Maybe our Men's USA soccer team will get better.
LOL!
How do they know they're all Brazillians calling? Not much time to find out. :P
If I was still single, I'd apply some QA and let you know. Real 100% Brasileiras are subjected to what I call figuratively "The Taste Test". Those who pass with high marks are stamped grade A. Those who don't pass, we keep anyways...
What a nice story and welcome! I must admit the Brazilian influence in Central Florida is growing as well. I enjoy "The Sounds of Brazil" every weekend on our local jazz station here.
If that's your wife, I can understand the influence she might have over you ;D!

I'll second that! Well done BOB!
