(No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo! )
if only God would turn all male muslims into eunuchs....
FACT: Ms. Blumner is wrong.
But once a month she would become a raging bull and would lay waste anyone who crossed her.
She may be successful; but that doesn't mean she is right.
Too stupid to stay alive.
We live in north county San Diego, the last normal place in California, and the boys here are being raised as men. Especially the Tom H children. All my kids are being taught to love their country, deliberately and not through osmosis. My son is being taught old-fashioned notions about manhood as regards to women and his duties to his country. Almost every man I know will be having his son join the Boy Scouts. So there's hope yet.
The point is that there are male ways of doing things and female ways. Both can work and both are needed in the world today, but there is a time and a place for everything. The fact that the feminine viewpoint has been "put down" over the centuries is wrong but its no reason why it has to be equally valid here and now and in this particular situation. When the blood and the snot are flying its a time for macho and hardness. When the fighting is over, perhaps then is when we need the "understanding" and the "feeling".
We need the masculine virtues to win this war, and the feminine ones to win the peace after. And like Tony Blair once said, we need to win both.
All she needs to do is look at history...but that would be a bit much for her to handle.
Girlie men are fine when all that has to be done is to take out the trash and change the baby....and they are well-coiffed and smell fresh when they do it.
But, when the external, violent "real world" has to be dealt with - there ain't no girlie man consensus that will work. Sometimes, some bad people just need a good killin'.
The universe didn't make men and women different for a reason. And, the reason is women are, in general, supposed to take care of the home. Men, in general, are supposed to take care of the world.
Like all of the best solutions - it's VERY simple.
Real heroes have more going for them than testosterone (absolutely clueless)
A FR thread with her silly article.
Dang, I ain't no girlie man and I change my son's diaper all the time.
This is quite abstract, shall we say. May I politely suggest you actually read up on how things went in the late 1940's before you make pallid nostrums the mission statement for 'winning the peace'. We forcefully occupied our former enemies, having a real nasty time due to all the leftover Nazis and madcap Japanese. In both places, gangsterism flourished (even Kurosawa noticed, see his film 'Stray Dog'). A heavy hand was needed, and the majority of the occupied people appreciated it. We had fought a harsh, horrible war and we had to maintain a harsh, wary peace until those who had gone so insane could be contained and eliminated or simply got too old to make any more trouble.
The case is the same now, only less so. What all who have their panties in a bunch about Iraq are complaining about is not a patch on what we had to do to maintain order in Germany and Japan. But did they actually do the reading anyone halfway educated on the subject requests, they would find they really don't have a moral leg to stand on, just a soapbox to screech from.
Like I say, read up on an full-frontal occupation of a defeated enemy and then get back to us.
"But once a month she would become a raging bull and would lay waste anyone who crossed her."
BWAAAAAHAAAAHAAA!
As if the Moose will ever agree to a "weeping war"
Maybe go shoot something afterwards....(just to be on the safe side)
"The Deadwood hero is impulsive, aggressive and macho, while the reality hero is a rational consensus-builder with an intelligent plan of action."
Actually, I favor an intelligent plan of action, like the one the Canadians recently used in Afghanistan to ambush and kill a whole bunch of Taliban. Woo-hoo!
Also, I am very suspicious of women with names like Robyn, with cutesy spellings. It indicates poor choice by the parents, who saddled their daughter with a name which works as a nick-name for a cute little girl, but doesn't age well. How are we supposed to take seriously an adult with a name like that?
