Politics: In a fundraising e-mail, Sen. John Kerry charges that Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell tried to "suppress the Democratic vote." But it wasn't Blackwell who paid off registrars with cocaine.
Kerry sent the e-mail to 100,000 Democratic donors Tuesday asking them to support U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland (news, bio, voting record) for governor of Ohio in his race against Secretary of State Blackwell. In it, echoing earlier charges that Blackwell stole the 2004 election for Bush in Ohio, Kerry charged Blackwell "used the power of his state office to try to intimidate Ohioans and suppress the Democratic vote."
Among Blackwell's alleged attempts to "suppress" the vote in 2006 is his effort to actually enforce an election reform bill signed by Gov. Bob Taft on Jan. 31. That measure requires voters to prove their identity with, say, a driver's license. If they can't, they can still cast a provisional ballot that would be evaluated later.

Kerry has not ventured an opinion on the effort of Georgianne Pitts in Defiance County. According to the Toledo Blade, she told the Defiance County sheriff she was working on behalf of the NAACP National Voter Fund and admitted to giving crack cocaine in lieu of cash to a young worker who supplied her with completed voter registration forms. Among those listed on the forms were Mary Poppins, Jeffrey Dahmer and Janet Jackson.
While charging voter fraud and manipulation in Ohio in 2004, as Gore did in Florida in 2000, Kerry opposes attempts to ensure voting integrity, such as requiring voters to actually show up at the polls and once there proving with valid ID they are who they say they are. He supports gimmicks such as motor voter, vote by mail and provisional ballots -- open invitations to game the system.
What really irks Kerry and the Democratic conspiracy theorists is that President Bush defeated Kerry in Ohio by 119,000 votes, largely because Bush increased his percentage of the black vote there from 9% in 2000 to 16% in 2004

Why you might ask?
He's clearly trying to get a Democrat elected governor in Ohio in 2006 and at the same time pick up a colossal IOU that he could redeem in a 2008 presidential run.
It is Kerry who is trying to suppress the truth.
Well................ Kerry's VP candidate Edwards channeled little girls with MS.
What an ugly image that title burned into my imagination - I think I need some antibiotics. Strong ones.
ha..
More channeling.
In one of (John) Edwards' silver-tongued arguments to the jury on behalf of a girl born with cerebral palsy, he claimed he was channeling the unborn baby girl, Jennifer Campbell, who was speaking to the jurors through him.

And now... the scrubdown with Babo and Lava soap...
I don't think it would matter one bit who is governor of Ohio in 2008.Everyone I know here in Ohio thinks of Kerry as a pompous ass.Or a traitor.
How do you know he's channeling Gore?He could be channeling any village idiot from anywhere in the world-would sound like Gore.
I'm going to a Ken Blackwell fundraiser tomorrow night. Can't wait.
Sounds like Blackwell has grounds for a lawsuit. How despicable these scumbags are making false charges like this. I hope Blackwell and the OH GOP will use this outrage to fire up the base. I guess I should send Blackwell a contribution now.
