It is not a war on fascism, bur a war on islamic fascism. Actually it is not a war on islamic fascism per se but on those islamic fascists who let their fantasies about killing those who are not islamic fascists become reality.
freeped and still sucking hind titty to cnn liberal base
It is a war against Islam itself. I personally believe the latest catch phrase "Islamo Facism" is too kind. The history of Islam is about violence and overthrow and repression.
So I actually voted no. This is a war against Islam directly, as it should be.
It's 1938 all over again.
History does not repeat, although sometimes it rhymes.

Why not? I believe these polls are "stacked" by liberals without jobs or anything else to do but watch TV and take the same poll, over and over again..all day.
LOL...been a while since I've read that.

I voted yes mainly because it would annoy CNN.
I think my tagline describes my feelings on the similarities of 1938 and now.
Sadly, correct. Unlike Christianity (which is an upgrade that can be loaded into any culture, under any government, and enlighten it without destroying it), Islam is a complete civilizational operating system -- religion, culture, government, society, everything -- and an extraordinarily bad one at that. It's not just obsolete, it was horrible even at first release, and it's been spreading like a virus ever since.
It just so happens that "fascism" is the closest word we have to describe that type of government from a Western perspective. In the old days, "tyranny" would have been the word of choice, but it's no longer in common usage.
Plus, we get to steal one of the liberals' pet insults for US, and use it somewhat more accurately against a cause that they love. Sweet. It's almost as much fun as calling them racists!
And 68% of those polled are now looking up the word "fascism" in the dictionary. They only remotely remember hearing something about that word many years ago. The consensus of the CNN crowd is that there use to be some Italian Pizza maker whom went by that last name. If there is one thing that the CNN crowd knows, it is that Muslims don't like Pizza, so therefore there can't be a connection with the WOT.
Historians cite each other. Unless their chain of citations goes all the way back to my neighbor, Fred 'Nermal' Merkan, they are making the historical fallacy type 14d.
I think it should simply be called the war against EVIL Islamists.
The term Islamo-fascism is a little catchy term used by the neocons that betray their own Trotskyite roots. We all know the lefties love to throw the term "fascist" around to describe anything they disparage. Some on the right tend to be falling into the same trap. Fascism is the bastard child of socialism without all the ideology of Marx. Islamo totalitarianism would be just as accurate but wouldn't have the cache of the word fascist. Islam by it's nature is not democratic--it's theocratic and authoritarian. I don't mean that all Muslims want to live in a totalitarian world, but Islam and all it embodies has more influence over the psyches of Muslims (even the more secular ones) than Christianity or Judaism ever had over it's believers (including the nominal ones) in the modern age.
The info is out there on the net, but not many folks are willing to talk about the nature of Islam. Folks will go on about sideshows of Mohammed being a pedophile, etc etc, but Islam--even radical jihadist Islam-- unlike Fascism, has a much more defined ideology than Fascism ever had.
The Bushies are doing themselves a disservice by parroting terms in a manner that has the intellectual profundity of an aardvark. Leave that to the Hollywood Left--they do so much more of a colorful job at it.
I really wish people would go look up the word fascism and see what it really means.
Substitute "Islam" for nation or race, and the definition fits perfectly.
