Most of the details are classified, lest the enemy know where you are strong, or weak. How well prepared anyone is for Cyber War won't be revealed until someone starts one. There may be some small scale skirmishes down the road, as a sort of "short of war" type action during a time of tension. If that happens, watch carefully. Because you will probably be seeing something no one expected.

I got news for you...it began many years ago and continues everyday. US Government networks are probed and exploited almost constantly.

It's had to take seriously an article which misnames its main topic "SIPRI" rather than the correct name "SIPRnet", and which also uses the wrong formal name to describe the acronym: "separate Internet" rather than the correct "Secure Internet Protocol Router Network".

However it is true that a lot of logistics data does run across the unclassified and (relatively) unsecured NIPRnet, makes use of standard Internet resources.
