"Is it really the *gov't* that insists this, or the MSM?"
Yeah although they do seem to have allies in the press. I suspect it is all political correctness run amok.
Government authorities claim that there is no connection with other "known" terrorists, so this must be just another crazy person. The media conveniently forget to mention the race or religion of the perp because they don't want anyone to call them racist.
It's all done because no one working for the government or the media has any balls. They are all afraid of the least possibility they might be called racist.
In the end people just shrug and call the whole bunch terrorist supporters. It's true BTW. They have been scared by Muslims into supporting the terrorist agenda.
It's no wonder we are held in contempt all over the world. Our government and our press have been defeated by the multiculturalists.
A group of screaming limp wristed harpies.

The media conveniently forget to mention the race or religion of the perp because they don't want anyone to call them racist. I think it's usually true that these incidents are carried out by Muslims with no connections to "known" terrorists. The enemy we're fighting are Islamofascists who are schooled to believe that their mission in life is to kill "infidels". They don't need a plot to kill people in the ways they do. Just a car, or a bomb, or a gun, or whatever...
The enemy is the Islamofascist school of thought and the madrassas that teach it.
I think they all know that our gov't has learned how to foil large conspiracies (although some of our courts and Dem. politicians would like to stop that), so we'll be seeing more of these individual efforts to kill us, until we can find and shut down the madrassas and mosques who breed these people.
BTW, I do not believe that all Muslims want to kill us, but I do think that most of the people who do are from the extreme Muslim sects.

Come on, if you already live in Canada, it's not such a leap to live in an alternative universe.Or if you work in academia. Or the main stream media. Or Washington D.C. or < fill in the blank >

Speaking the truth will gain you a lot of enemies. But the cause of peace has never been advanced by denying, ignoring, or subverting it.

To re-inforce your point, about one third of the U.S. populace always votes for the Dimocratz.

Thanks for the ping, Pokey!
I think a certain amount of stupidness goes along with conspiracy theorists. I was on FR's "DUmmie FUnnies" trying to follow their logic. (Note to Tart: DON'T BE REDUNDANT!)
It seems that according to one of the kiddies at DU it must have been a conspiracy! See, the WTC buildings fell in such a way that it had to be controlled demolition. Why, then, did the Pentagon not fall straight down on itself, also? See? See?

Anyhow, on to better things:

...tell you what the chemical formula for water is...
Why, you can't fool me! So this is one of those threads about Dihydrogen Monoxide (no doubt planted by Karl Rove)! I have it all figured out!

I get the impression that their attitude toward killing other mooslims is if they were righteous they will receive their reward, and if they were not let them go to hell.
