The issue here is that we are winning. Despite a full court press the shamnesty is dead in the water. And I am convinced it is one of the main reasons GW's poll numbers are in the dumpster. More and more local governments are taking the lead on this.

Agreed as to the effect on GWB's polls. People sense the inconsistency between the WOT and open borders and don't care for the hypocrisy. We are winning the war of ideas, but the battle on the ground is still in doubt. Illegal entry numbers are down, but I won't call it a victory until the number of illegals in the US goes way down.
