Don't think we get Lipton's onion soup mix in Britain but batchelors do good soup mix and the own brand from the stores I use also does good soup especially Scotch Broth which they use lamb instead of beef.

Lipton's (dried) Onion Soup Mix is a recipe saver / recipe maker of the greatest proportions. It is AWESOME. Folks here even use it in making vegetable / chip dips.
