A convicted paedophile who was due to be sentenced for sex offences against children has been found dead in the River Taff in Cardiff.
The body of Raymond Croft, 58, from Port Talbot, was found after he missed his sentencing in Swansea last week.
He had previously been found guilty of sexual assault, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and attempted sexual activity with a child.
Police said there are no suspicious circumstances around his death.
Croft was due to appear at Swansea Crown Court last week to be sentenced for sex offences against children, but did not attend.
Judge John Diehl QC had issued a warrant for his arrest last Friday.
The same day, his body was found in the River Taff, near Sophia Gardens.
Croft had been granted bail five weeks ago while reports were compiled ahead of sentencing.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that the body of a man found in the River Taff has been identified as that of Raymond Croft.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner has been informed."
yeah...uh-huh... most folks just end up dead in a river...isn't that where most dying people go.
Looks like sentencing has already been taken care of.
"cry me a river..."
No - he arrived earlier than expected to his ultimate sentence.
