Do you have a link to that? The bill I read says nothing close to what is in your post. The actual bill. I just pasted it from the article above - second paragraph. Hope the actual bill IS different from what that paragraph claims... :o)

To me, and I'm from Illinois so what do I know, it seems the bill just adds the words "sexual orientation" to the discrimination laws.
What I think most are upset about is the Judiciary Analysis of what the new wording implies considering how California has defined those certain terms in other areas of code. I posted the Judges Analysis in post 39.

Gasping at straws... it puts the Action Hero in a whole new light for you now, doesn't it? For most of us, this didn't come out of the blue. The man IS a liberal. If you're not cognizant of that fact, you're in deep denial.

I want to read the actual legislation before making an opinion. You pasted from propaganda. What bill are you referring to?

Basically, religious institutions will be coerced into affirming homosexuality as positive and natural behavior and if they act otherwise... they lose state funding.

I live in Connecticut and have no real opinion formed about this bill yet. I merely pinged a few California FRiends to this thread for discussion. I'm sure you can find the actual bill yourself...

Do you have a link to the bill that you are referring to? There are links to all of the pro-GLBT legislation making its way to the Governor's desk in this post:

Based on his performance today, my guess is the Governor will sign most of them.

Got it?

I can't vote for him and I couldn't vote for Angelides either. I'd be betraying everything I believe in. There's no way I can support this kind of Republican. The F.O.'s and staytrues will pillory you for saying such things, saying that YOU are responsible for further liberal takeover if you don't fight them with a mushy middle vote that only serves the other side. That's garbage -- the mushies are the ones that do things like sign bills like this, and say, "Where else you gonna go? It's my way, or no way!" If they lose because principled people choose not to go their way, THEY MADE THE CHOICE.
I hear the same thing about Congressional and Senate races, too. Bush is dedicated to the WOT, but he's decided that you want to support it, you gotta open wide and swallow Vicente Fox's agenda and adopt a virtually non-existent border protection policy. AGAIN, HE AND THOSE WHO FOLLOW HIM HAVE MADE THE CHOICE. THEY want to risk the nation's security so nobody can falsely accuse them of disliking Hispanics.
I'm sure that someone is by now suggesting that R-nold opponents are like the Nedheads in Connecticut. Baloney -- the nutroots are attempting to bounce a liberal from office based on a single conservative stand. Nowadays, Shrivernegger only acts like a conservative when he's at the state GOP confab. Standing up and saying "No matter how evil I am, I am the lesser of the two" is NOT the way to rally the base.

You're right about that... there's no way to avoid the reach of government anymore. If it was just a simple matter of refusing public money.... but if its public services, that's going to be virtually impossible to escape. Think drivers' licenses.

I can't believe he did this. He did the same thing last year, the media just wasn't watching.
They focused entirely on his veto of gay marriage and completely ignored the slew of Pro-GLBT legislation signed into law on the same day.
See list of bills signed on Sept 29, 2005 HERE.

You called attention to the old adage: a man's character is best known when no one is watching him. Arnold doesn't have a problem with the GLBT agenda. The only reason he vetoed the gay marriage bill is its up for litigation in the courts. To give him political cover on that issue. Otherwise, it stands to reason he would have signed it also into law.

We were talking about the bill as written and I read it and was right about that.
I was wrong about this text being a revision of an earlier version. You were right about what?
You totally mischaracterized it and have proven you know not what you are posting about.

This isn't about socialized medicine (which I fully expect Arnold to approve after the election).
You still haven't addressed the simple fact:
Arnold signed the bill
So you just keep changing the subject.
Arnold signed it. It looks to me like you are covering for it because you wanted it.
