TBN or a local Christian channel that carries TBN programming is usually part of a basic cable package.

I believe we have to present the truth of the gospel to all mankind, but not to bash their religious beliefs. The truth itself is all we need to make the difference. God will convict them of wrong beliefs, not us. We just present the gospel and let God do the rest.

Mary, your view is not Scriptural.

God had the children of Israel (by direct demand in specific instances) KILL the heathen religionists

Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Elijah, Elisha and other prophets boldly denounced the beliefs of the heathen around them.

John the Baptists denounced the Pharisees as did Jesus himself - and in no soft way.

And entire BOOKS of the Bible would fall under the category of some heathenists as "bashing their religion." For example, Jude says " 4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ" What? Aren't they just practicing their own beliefs?

The Apostle Paul said of the Galatians that those who believed that you had to be circumcized in addition to their faith in Christ to be saved - he wished they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

Sometimes God gives quiet moments for us to share with people we have a relationship with. At those times, a simple gospel presentation may be all that is required.

But please do not condemn those who are earnestly contending for their faith (as Jude told them to do) by pointing out the error in other's beliefs.

Why Are They Silencing the Watchmen?

It does seem strange that the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) has canned another excellent, timely, and warning-sounding program, "Zola Levitt Presents."

Their reason is that Levitt's programming was not Arab/Muslim-friendly. This is the second time they have done this in a year as they scrapped Hal Lindsey's truth-telling last January, then recanted if they would be allowed to censor his program. Hal was told he was too pro-Israel and anti-Arab. He moved on--a wise choice.

I understand that TBN wants to get the gospel to the Muslim. I get it that Hal and Zola tell it like it is but in this post 9/11 world that is what is needed! The jihadists are engaged in a world war. Ask the victims in Beslan, Bombay, the U.K., Madrid, Bali, America, Israel, and a lot more. There is a bomb or terror threat daily in the last several weeks. Don't you get it TBN? They want us dead or brought back to 7th century Sharia Law.

This is the generation where we need the truth-tellers even if the truth hurts. Even if the truth offends. Even if the truth makes enemies and causes the loss of friends. Instead, we are in an appeasement mode.

Zola's staff said they were trying to "appease TBN's program director," but I have to wonder if TBN is just doing what the rest of the world is doing: Appeasing Islam. Everyone today needs a "straight talk" message like both Levitt did when alive, and now his successors. Only straight talk, to-the-point messages are going to turn people around from their sin and evil behavior.

I have to ask, "What is TBN up to?" Is this political correctness, bad judgment, ignorance, or worse?" These two ministries were told to be more Arab-friendly. Wait a minute. Ninety five per cent of the world is Arab/Muslim-friendly: The media, the United Nations, the European Union, the U.S. State Department, the World and National Council of Churches, the Vatican, the Communist world, and more. Few of them can see truth. They want to make brutal enemies their friends.

The Islamo-fascists are determined to destroy the infidel--us. Having Christian television lean in a positive way towards Islam means nothing but that they have won another "appeasement victory." And they have won many of them! The world caves to Islam, but must the church and Christian media do so as well?

Did evangelicals (a word today that has little meaning anymore) appease Hitler? OK, there was little Christian media during WWII. But we did not tell the enemy nice things and shield them from being offended even for the sake of the gospel. TBN, however, has now booted some ministries out the door right at a time when Islam needs to hear the brutal truth, but not in a brutal way. Neither Levitt nor Lindsey presented that truth in a way that should have warranted this response.

Islam has not lost its resolve. There is no room in their ideology for peaceful co-existence with infidels. They are willing to sacrifice anything for their goals to be furthered.

Pulling truth-telling ministries off of Christian networks is beyond comprehension to most but is now a habit to some. When will America stop pussyfooting around Islam? Lindsey and Levitt didn’t do that. They were “watchmen on the walls” using the airwaves of the Trinity Broadcasting Network to wake up a frightfully sleeping generation even of believers.

With the “messianic menace” in Iran, Osama on the loose, and Islamic cells waiting for a call, now more than ever Americans need to be forewarned and forearmed for the battle at hand. Silencing the “watchmen” is being done at great peril to America.

I understand what you’re trying to say, & maybe it would be more effective if we were dealing with actual human beings. But this is a cult of death. They are brutal uncivilized savages who are intent on the destruction of Christianity. The spread of islam throughout the world to the point it is the ONLY religion practiced is their goal. Paul & Jan should not be helping them.

I know it would be great if we could just love the devil out of them. But you can’t love the devil out of the devil. he is what he is.

Charles Stanley can be added to that list. But he isn't a TBN preacher, nor is Kennedy. I think Zola and Hal took TBN money to produce their shows. But, then again, if anyone has listened to Christianity in Crisis by Hank Hanegraff(whom I am aware has his own issues - but, the tapes don't lie), then you will know that TBN has been heterodox to heretical for years.

I don't believe I am condemning anyone's earnest contending of their faith. Where did you get that?

Contending for the faith includes pointing out the error in people's belief systems - as Lindsey and Levitt have done. Sometimes the truth about people's belief systems is very ugly. Spelling out the ugliness in a belief system can be construed as "bashing someone's religion." You do not want someone else's religion "bashed" (mind you one man's truth telling is another's bashing). Contention means it isn't always going to be pretty. It isn't simply tell the gospel and let God do the rest. It is arming yourself with all available information and allowing God to use it. Those who do not accept Christ as their Savior are going to Hell. Plain and simple. You won't get them to consider the truth of the gospel if they don't see the error in their own thinking.
