The real abstraction here is if this horrid beautiful watery place is better with or without my presence.
Dear FRiend,
I disagree with this statement. We can't view all of life as some sort of measurement of ourselves. Why? Because the scale of it all makes that illogical. I think the real point is to grow, and to mature. You can do that without any acknowledgment from anyone around you. If you can help someone else grow, then that's a twofer. I like booze too, but I understand it's an illusion, a biochemical trip, and nothing more than that.
Life is rare, death is dirt cheap. If you don't like the phrase "recovering", then just think of yourself as an organism that doesn't load itself up on depressants. Fill your life with tasks which help others, building, helping, educating, inspiring, soon you won't remember the place you're stuck in right now.
Please don't pull the plug! One great man once said "What you do for yourself goes to the grave with you, what you do for others lives on in perpetuity, it is better to give than to receive."
Booze is just a past time, fill your life with real service to those who are in pain, and your life will be bigger than you are, and there you'll find the happiness you're looking for.
Best of luck!!! If you want anymore conversation please Freepmail me! Or email me at orbital_account@hotmail.com
