One-third of China's vast landmass is suffering from acid rain caused by rapid industrial growth and the failure of local governments to enforce environmental standards for fear of hurting business, a new report shows.

Bush's fault :-)
Two thirds of China is probably praying-er-burning incense- for acid rain.
Bad news. Wars are fought over land, water, and religion. If their land becomes fallow due to pollution, they will fight for food. This is not good.
Environmentalists: "Oh those evil capi ... oh, right, they're communists. Never mind."
China is a developing nation they are allowed to kill the planet and create greenhouse gasses.
Does anyone here watch RFD TV Saturday mornings?
They have a show called "Trains" or something like that. It's one hour of the old locomotives, including steam.
Except, recently, they've be showing China's steam locomotives. Still in use, just like the old days here.
Odd to see them cross modern trestles pulling modern train cars, even container cars.
and smoke, yeah lots and lots of smoke.
If they screw up China, they will have to expand into Russia for 'lebensraum'.

Rich women in Manhattan and Los Angeles bath their faces in acid all the time. Are the Chinese going to be paying extra for this? I hear its a wonderful exfoliator.
If John Kerry were President this wouldn't be happening.
BUMP!!!
So when is Al Gore going to go over there and talk some sense into them?
Gets you cleaner than Irish Spring.
What do the other two thirds bathe in?
The first developing nation with a space program.
Bet all of those olympic athletes can't wait to go to China in 2008!
