Well maybe He, you, and apparently, many others posting here tonight does NOT hold it against them.
You are all much more forgiving and noble than I as, I do.
Yes, we can all read into the fact that by making the big announcement that they were "forced" to convert, informs us that they are admitting, that this is the only reason they would do so.
However, for me, that's not enough. I want to hear them (loud and clear) renounce their conversion and castigate their captors for making such a mockery of their religion "of peace."
I'll cut them some slack and give them a few days to decompress. However, after a week, if they have NOT renounced (yes VERBALLY) their "conversion" and refer to their captors in terms which they deserve, then I will hold them in the same contempt I now do for those who kidnapped them.
Enough PC, wussy, Muzzie-coddling, media, already!!!!
No recantation is necessary since it was obtained under duress. In other words, there was no conversion.
The bigger question is whether those often characterized as moderate Muslims will denounce forced conversions along with Islamic penalties for apostasy?
Specifically, will CAIR denounce these forced conversions? If you think CAIR is a moderate voice that deserves coverage as a credible organization by the drive-by-media, then click here to see how extreme they actually are.
The Palis are nice and kindhearted and beautiful but they tied us up, pointed guns at us and forced us to convert to Islam. This went on for two weeks. But really, really they are kind and beautiful! And more journalists should come here and talk to the nice, nice, beautiful, gun toting kidnappers. Nope! This is not setting well with me.
Wonder what their thoughts on Christianity are.
If not, why not?
"Steve did it immediately over the phone to Shep VERY early this AM....One of the first things that came out of his mouth."
I sure hope that's true. Is there a transcript anywhere?
Oh, brother. Throw him back.
Yeah......the lovely Palestinian people. How charming.
Pardon me as I wretch into a nearby wastebasket........
Gee, when was the last time the Rev. Pat Robertson's henchmen captured CNN reporters and stringers at gunpoint and forced them to convert to Christianity?
...and to make it complete, forced them to sit in a pew, on camera, wearing garish clothes even without going to a golf course?
*crickets*
Cheers!
The solution is a "nice" clean blanket of MOABS over arafat's PA gangster and maggots in Gaza!!!
Yep, it's true. It was one of those incidents where you had to be there.
Well, according to Islam, any conversion... under any circumstances, is valid.
If the reporters fail to uphold the tenets of Islam, they will be considered apostates by Muslims. And the terrorist groups will mark them for death.
If they recant... that is not permitted by Islam, so the terrorists will mark them for death. Heck, remember what happened in Pakistan last month? A Pakistani muslim converted to Christianity, so he was found guilty of apostasy and killed.
The two Fox reporters are walking dead-men if they ever set foot in a Muslim country. (which includes most of western Europe, now)
:-(
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
He sounds like most people who have had their lives threatened by the death cult, they are too shook up to say anything negative.
So when do they hold another press conference?
The one where they dine on Bacon and spit on the Quran, on camera, explaining that any "conversion" at gun point is meaningless.
Oh wait, they are already making apologies for their captors, BIZARRE!
My theory is when people are kidnapped like this and are made to think that at any moment they could be killed, something happens to them mentally. When they are released, subconciously they don`t think it is over, so they remain in a state of mind appeasing the death cult. I mean you have to figure they constantly have guns put to their heads, the nerves must go haywire, and I can imagine the nightmares he`s going to have. Hopefully when he recovers enough he can again see the death cult for what it is.
"I have the highest respect for Islam, and I learned a lot of good things about it"
Good thing # 1 - Muslims make good worm food.
