My guess is that the GOP primary will come down to Gingrich, Tancredo and McCain. The Democratic primary will come down to Feingold and Warner.

I'm with you on Romney. We need someone who can articulate our vision for America--someone with the communicative abilities of Bill Clinton who's not, well, a Clinton. Despite their popularity in the MSM, I don't see McCain or Rudy doing that. Gingrich can, but he's got too many skeletons in his closet. That leaves us with Mitt, who in addition to being a solid conservative is an undeniably smart and engaging guy.

America will not elect a home wrecker for First Lady. Newt's moral failings are firmly his own. I don't think the American people would be upset that she's wife number X (3?) so much as they'd be disgusted once they found out the manner in which Newt left his first wife.

Aside from his health plan, what's not conservative about Mitt?

I like Newt. But he's not electable to the Presidency. Not in this universe.

And, unfortunately, this poll would mean people would choose based on "SUBSTANCE"...and we know that, in reality, that ain't happenin'.

The situation with the first wife is disgusting, but both Newt and Giuliani bedded and courted their current wives while still married to their previous ones. If either were to be nominated, that would be a lethal revelation in the hands of the Democrats. America will not elect home wrecker for First Lady.

America seemed to have no problem (ok, a plurality, not a majority) voting for a Dim philanderer...in fact, two Dim philanderers. Of course, our side has a lot more class than resorting to use that sort of personal info against an opponent.

I live in MA. Romney has not achieved what he set out to do, even in firing Matt Amorillo -- it took him two tries and four years.

Okay, he got Billy Bulger to resign at UMass, but the Corrupt Midget (name coined by Judge Dahre) still wound up with a pension of a million dollars and still got to keep his cronies in.

Legislatively, he bungled a deal which now forces increased cost for health care. And does anyone wonder why people are leaving the state in droves? He means well, but is not effective in pressuring/embarassing the state legislature. That's going to be a huge problem nationally.

Back office administration, he has done extremely well. So here's the perspective on Romney - he really excels in business and that's a fantastic skill.

I like him a lot. I just don't think that he has the skills to be a good president. He's fairly young, it doesn't have to be right now, if he's willing to learn how to make things happen when the CW and pols are against him. He can learn these things. But he hasn't yet.

We didn't have much of a choice during the last gubernatorial election.
Shannon O'Brien made herself look like an idiot. All Mitt had to do was to show up and say hello. National politics and international security are not so easy.
