This is exactly why modern Muslims will do! During the time of Hitler he did whatever he wanted to do with the Jews and the German people who did not agree were scared and did not want to end up like the Jews. I know in my faith as Catholic there are those of us who know and speak out against many things that are wrong now with the church.But considering the problem we have with immigration we have no idea what lies in store for us when Iran gives the signal to start suicide bombings.When this begins what will the so called modern Muslims do? Yes, he was, and he was also the founder of the church. It is one thing for Peter to be martyred, and quite another for some newspaper reporter to get shot over this.

My point was that Jesus did not condemn Peter for renouncing him. Not at all. I know Peter's fate.

Good actors? Maybe. But will Centanni denounce Islam? I'm guessing not, and I note that even once safe, he praised Islam. I won't be trusting any of his reports about the events in the middle east after this.

I guess you failed to not that the only interview we've seen with him post-release was at a staged photo op with a Palestinian politician WHILE STILL IN GAZA. I would neither call that safe nor a setting in which to speak openly and rip Islam.

How about we all wait a few days for the real story to come out before judging, condemning him, and using these hostages to push various agendas? Just a thought. There aren't any brownie points for being the first to scream about the sacrilege of Jesus healing on the Sabbath....

I would think that when faced with it, the well-being of their families were a major part of their decision. It's easy to romanticize it and equate onesself with the early martyrs, but if you're not going to see your daughter/son/wife again if you make "the wrong" choice, it's not so crystal clear.

Or how about I call it as I see it? I see Centanni right now as someone I wouldn't trust because of what he did--at gunpoint to be sure, but I also believe the times are here when many of us will be called to show courage, both in action and words. Would I have the courage to do the right thing? I don't know. To date, I haven't been called upon to decide. If I do the cowardly thing, I'm sure I'll be judged, both on earth and in Heaven.
